San Francisco now has more legal authority to clear away homeless encampments after the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals on Monday threw out part of a court order limiting when and how the city could cite people for sleeping on the streets.

Alcohol and drugs are prohibited in jails too. So eventually they'll have to make a very basic decision. If they can't make up their minds, then the city should legal have the right to send them to jail. If they really hate jail, then they just have to buckle up and clean up their own lives. If they don't know which is worse, jail or shelters, then they definitely deserve jail.

@@HypocritesExposd Private businesses don't allow homeless to use the bathrooms because they go in there and lock the door, they pass out while they are doing drugs, or use the bathroom for a druggy washing, leaving a complete mess for the business to clean up, and their drug and alcohol use make them have diarrhea everywhere. It's the same with city-sponsored public toilets. And, most of the drugged up homeless aren't looking for toilets when they have diarrhea, so they just do it all over, like on the bus, or the bus bench.

Also, yes lots of homeless are druggies, but some are not and legitimately need to use a bathroom, hence the pee and poop you randomly see around city streets. TBH if you're staying in a tent, you've made quite a number of bad decisions. That means you don't have a car to stay in, and have no friends that will let you stay. That's pretty bad.

Omg, that's the whole point. They can't afford housing!! Most homeless people in California are from California, and even the same county. This is where they're from! If we want to solve homelessness, make housing affordable. It's that simple.

Homeless shelters are like jail cells and if you refuse help you go to jail? Sounds like another dog and pony show where others suffer and someone walks away with a lot of money- please look at this situation and what is really happening- if we say it’s ok to do this to others then we say it’s okay to do this to us.
