San Francisco (Be Sure to Wear Flowers in Your Hair) is a 1967 song sung by Scott McKenzie that became a hippie anthem and a million-seller. Written in just 20 minutes by John Phillips, the song portrayed McKenzie and the entire flower power movement at the time, and inspired scores of youngsters to travel to San Francisco and portray themselves as "flower children“. The song has appeared in over 40 covers and has also been used in various films such as "Forrest Gump"... one of my favorites. This video is number 56 in my KZfaq series "A Couple Of Songs I Wish I Had Written Myself" and I play it the same way I usually do "live on stage".
