1 - Pedestrian Belgrano
San Salvador de Jujuy is characterized by the possibility of walking on foot and enjoying its history. If you are staying in one of the downtown hotels you can walk through the historic center.
Like all cities, San Salvador de Jujuy has its main street, which is named after the creator of the national flag: Belgrano. In colonial times (where it was also the main road) they called it "King's Street", as it was the official route of the then Spanish sovereign.

2 - San Francisco Church | Location: Belgrano and Lavalle
He acquired the title of Basilica on July 14, 2009, in recognition of Pope Benedict XVI on October 8, 2008.
The temple is located at the corner of Belgrano and Lavalle streets. The church of San Francisco was the first construction built by the Franciscans between 1611 and 1618. Like most of the buildings made in adobe, it was subjected to several reconstructions.
3 - Jujuy Popular Library - Location: Belgrano 652
Founded on October 27, 1899. It has a bibliographic heritage of great wealth and value. Only in 1906, by a decision of the state, the library went to the building in which it is currently.
4 - Provincial Historical Museum «Juan Galo Lavalle» - Location: Lavalle 252
It is based in the old house of the mid-eighteenth century, declared a National Historic Landmark, where Lavalle was killed, one of the political-military leaders of South American independence.
5 - San Salvador Cathedral- Location: Sarmiento and Gral. San Martín
The Cathedral of San Salvador de Jujuy dates back to the 17th century and is an exponent of colonial baroque architecture. Inside, it preserves valuable objects and images of religious art, among which the lying Christ stands out. The pulpit, carved in ñandubay and cedar, is one of the best achieved in the country. On the main altar, look at the gold leaf (gold foil). In the aisles you can see old paintings from the colonial era that belong to the Cuzco school. The Cathedral was the first building in the country to be declared a National Historic Heritage.
6 - El Cabildo (Police Historical Museum) - Location: Gral. Belgrano y Sarmiento
The Cabildo was an important institution of the old colonial administration. The original building was destroyed by an earthquake and the current one was rebuilt in the year 1863. Currently, the Police Historical Museum and Memory Site is in the town hall, reminiscent of the victims of the last dictatorship.
7 - General Belgrano Square
It was the main square at the time of the foundation of the city. At present it is the historical, political and social center of San Salvador. In the center is the monument of Manuel Belgrano, general of the Army of the North in the war for independence. Opposite the square are the most important buildings in the city such as the Government House, the Cabildo, the National University of Jujuy, the Cathedral and the Ministry of Tourism and Culture.
8 - Government House - Location: Sarmiento and Gral. San Martín
Located just in front of the Plaza General Belgrano, you will visit a French-style building, which houses ornaments, flags, and stories around which the current Jujuy was built.
On the 1st floor of this construction we will find the Flag Hall, it is the main hall of the Government House in which the flag donated by General Belgrano (hero of the independence of our country) is kept to the Cabildo of the province of Jujuy in 1813.
9 - XIBI XIBI PASEO LINEAR PARK - Location: between Av. April 19 and Hipólito Yrigoyen
On July 31, 2018, the xibi xibi park was inaugurated, designed as a space for family reunion, promotion of healthy habits, links with nature and a new tourist attraction in San Salvador de Jujuy.
The park has 2.5 kilometers of extension and in the recovered bed an internal network of 3.75 kilometers of bicycle paths and roads was built. It also makes the inclusion with access ramps and the installation of integrative games, which are added to the equipment of urban gyms. The amphitheater «Las Lavanderas», a space for artistic and recreational expressions, was also inaugurated.

¡¡¡ACTIVA SUBTITULOS Y SUSCRIBETE!!! #1 - Peatonal Belgrano San Salvador de Jujuy se caracteriza por la posibilidad de recorrerla a pie y disfrutar de su historia. Si estás hospedado en alguno de los hoteles céntricos podés recorrer caminando el casco histórico. Como todas las ciudades, san salvador de Jujuy tiene su calle principal, la cual lleva el nombre del creador de la bandera nacional: Belgrano. En el tiempo colonial (en donde también era la vía principal) la llamaban “la calle del Rey”, por ser el recorrido oficial del por entonces soberano español. En la ahora “peatonal”, la cual posee menos de un centenar de metros, se encuentran emplazadas confiterías, heladerías, hoteles y demás locales #2 - Iglesia San Francisco | Ubicación: Belgrano y Lavalle Adquirió el título de Basílica el 14 de julio de 2009 según reconocimiento por el Papa Benedicto XVI el 8 de octubre de 2008. El templo se encuentra en la esquina de las calles Belgrano y Lavalle. La iglesia de San Francisco fue la primera construcción levantada por los franciscanos entre 1611 y 1618. Como la mayoría de las edificaciones realizadas en adobe, fue sometida a varias reconstrucciones. #3 - Biblioteca Popular de Jujuy - Ubicación: Belgrano 652 Fundada el 27 de octubre de 1899. Cuenta con un patrimonio bibliográfico de gran riqueza y valor. Recién en 1906, por una decisión del estado, la biblioteca pasó al edificio en el que se encuentra actualmente. #4 - Museo Histórico Provincial «Juan Galo Lavalle» - Ubicación: Lavalle 252 Tiene sede en la antigua casona de mediados del siglo XVIII, declarada Monumento Histórico Nacional, donde fue muerto Lavalle, uno de los líderes políticos-militares de la independencia sudamericana. #5 - Catedral San Salvador- Ubicación: Sarmiento y Gral. San Martín La Catedral de San Salvador de Jujuy data del siglo XVII y es un exponente de la arquitectura barroco colonial. En su interior conserva valiosos objetos e imágenes de arte religioso entre los que se destacan el Cristo yacente. El púlpito, tallado en ñandubay y cedro, es uno de los mejor logrados del país. En el altar mayor de observa el dorado a la hoja (láminas de oro). En las naves laterales se observan antiguas pinturas de la época colonial que pertenecen a la escuela cuzqueña. La Catedral fue el primer edificio del país en ser declarado Patrimonio Histórico Nacional. #6 - El Cabildo (Museo Histórico Policial) - Ubicación: Gral. Belgrano y Sarmiento El Cabildo fue una importante institución de la antigua administración colonial. El edificio original fue destruido por un terremoto y el actual fue reconstruido en el año 1863. En la actualidad en el cabildo funciona el Museo Histórico Policial y Sitio de la Memoria que recuerda a las víctimas de la última dictadura. #7 - Plaza General Belgrano Fue la plaza mayor al momento de la fundación de la ciudad. En la actualidad es el centro histórico, político y social de San Salvador. En el centro se destaca el monumento de Manuel Belgrano, general del Ejército del Norte en la guerra por la independencia. Frente a la plaza se encuentran los edificios más importantes de la ciudad como la Casa de Gobierno, el Cabildo, la Universidad Nacional de Jujuy, la Catedral y la Secretaría de Turismo y Cultura. #8 - Casa de Gobierno - Ubicación: Sarmiento y Gral. San Martín Ubicada justo frente a la Plaza Gral. Belgrano, visitarán un edificio de estilo francés, el cual alberga en sus salas adornos, banderas, e historias entorno a las cuales se gestó la actual Jujuy. En el 1° piso de esta construcción encontraremos el Salón de la Bandera, es el salón principal de la Casa de Gobierno en el cual se guarda la bandera donada por el General Belgrano (héroe de la independencia de nuestro país) al Cabildo de la provincia de Jujuy en 1813. #9 - PARQUE LINEAL PASEO XIBI XIBI - Ubicación: entre las Av. 19 de abril e Hipólito Yrigoyen EL 31 de Julio de 2018, se inauguró el parque xibi xibi, pensado como un espacio para el encuentro familiar, promoción de hábitos saludables, vinculación con la naturaleza y nuevo atractivo turístico en San Salvador de Jujuy. El parque cuenta con 2,5 kilómetros de extensión y en el lecho recuperado se construyó una red interna de 3,75 kilómetros de ciclovías y caminerías. Asimismo, efectiviza la inclusión con rampas de acceso y la instalación de juegos integradores, que se suman al equipamiento de gimnasios urbanos. También se dejó inaugurado el anfiteatro «Las Lavanderas», espacio destinado a expresiones artísticas y recreativas.
