Here is a compilation of train videos taken over a few days in the month of November of 2023. On Saturday the 11th, I catch a bunch of eastbounds close behind one another and on Tuesday the 14th, there was an all NS ZLAAI with NS 8102 the Pennsylvania Heritage trailing 4th and on Monday the 20th, I catch a few more trains in the last couple hours of daylight.

I have two questions for you regarding the Sunset Route in California: 1. Are there any spots where there are still old code lines (the old powerlines that date back many decades and seem to preserve well based on their construction) that parallel the tracks along UP? 2. Are there any spots between West Colton and Yuma where more double track is being added? I have read that at 83% of the Sunset Route between West Colton and El Paso is now double-tracked (I wish CN had the intelligence to do the same thing with their mainline between Jasper and Winnipeg in Canada).

I've been between Colton and as far east as Niland and I don't see any code lines. They're gone now. It is mostly double track. There are still a few single track sections on the north side of the Salton Sea between Coachella and Salton with sidings and also a couple sections further east closer to Yuma.

@@inlandrailfan608 That's too bad about the code lines. Based on videos and photos I have seen, they still exist in some places in Southern Arizona. They exist quite prevalently on UP's Overland Route in Wyoming, Utah, Nevada and the lines between Salt Lake City and Colton and then also between Portland and Granger, WY. I love those code lines, but they are mostly useless now. I know there are a few single track sections along the line, but do you know if UP is planning to double track them at this time?
