What a story of pain, of suffering, of love and loss. May she rest in peace. It is just like you are speaking on my behalf. My wife, my best friend, she died of cancer 8 years ago. I re-lived all that pain of chemotherapy and hair loss. But when the final movement came, I statarted weeping, just two of us in the hospital room because my son and daughter were taken home by khala and momoone. She was unable to talk, but slowly raised her and asked me not to weep. Because she didn't like weeping. Finally she just tried to hold my hand , we held our hands together, looking into each others eyes. And gradually the grip loosend and her arm fell on the bed. That was so painful, the end of lovely partnership. I miss he every day and on this eid, May 13 was her 8th death anniversary. May she rest in peace.

The most beautiful thing about the entire podcast that these two have completely opposite personalities, Sanam is so articulate and composed, so aware of her emotions and how to balance them in any situation, whereas Mahira is sensitive, takes her time to explain her point, she reacts to every sentence with all of her body, so expressive of her emotions and I don't think that's her being dramatic, that's how she is and I love that about her.

Surprisingly, Mahira is somewhat mellow here. The other day I was watching her interview with Mira Sethi and found her so dramatic...at times cringeworthy. The expressions on Mira's face say it all. Sanam Saeed is such a revelation. Beauty with brains, I would say. Having said that, it's a pleasure watching two iconic actresses in the same frame.

I agree, I find her all over the place, definitely need some practice and communication skills. She can not articulate at all. I hardly understand her English or Urdu, frankly. And why we are making these actors as interviewers or whatever this show is about. But lets leave acting to Mahira and let others with more experience do these valuable interviews. Sanam Syed on the other hand, is confident and knows how to get her point across. And last but not least i dont understand why they are talking about the loss when her mom died almost 3-4 years before. It seems this show is only to do some business during lock down!

As heartfelt as this conversation was in the beginning, I feel like I have trouble following Mahira at times because of her fragmented/incomplete sentences. I understand that this isn’t her profession, but for something like this where she’s having another person tell her story, I feel that she needs to do a better job with the way she asks questions and moves the conversation forward. I’m so glad she has decided to start a conversation around this topic and I look forward to watching more, just maybe have more clarity in what you’re saying - I could tell Sanam had to keep guessing and filling in for Mahira which for viewers can sometimes get confusing as well. Good luck! :)

I find her lazy & laid back when it comes to her work, be it films or anything..the only time, she was serious about her work & did a good job at it was in her first few projects! It’s like, she knows, nobody else has the kind of popularity she has, and she’s going to land films/endorsements no matter what!

This is so relatable in so many ways. I lost my mom when I was 8 and am 26 now but it's still with me in so many ways. You never really get the closure, you don't have a moment of grief, it just grows with you. I don't even know when I stopped waiting for her and just realized she was never coming back and my childish imagination just died. It was only in university, while I was attending counseling that I realized I never really grieved for her. With so many years in between, it's hard to figure out how to grieve. Naturally, that wasn't my first loss. So many people have come and gone since and I've faced failure in so many ways but nothing ever measured up to the loss of her so somehow I was able to pull through everything, even if it was dragging myself out inch by inch. You just realize, the only thing inevitable besides death is change. Nothing is permanent. I'm glad this this topic was handled so gracefully. We need more heartfelt and real conversations human emotions. Kudos to both of you.

I would really suggest that Mahira should better speak in urdu only, coz she is unable to express herself well in English. 90% of her statements were incomplete. There is nothing wrong in speaking in urdu and infact it would really make the show more meaningful. Coz this show is all about expressing feelings and if not done properly it gets boring n at times Sanams face did say that.😬 Anyways the topic is really good, these insights could really help a lot of people in such hard times. And Sanam speaks really well, practical n a brave girl👌👍

Most of the films she does, is not for her, most shows can be done better by someone else.. but then, if bollywood is ridden by Nepotism, I’d say, pak film industry is ridden by favouritism!

Thank you so much for this, I recently lost my grandmother and so many of the points Sanam and Mahira brought up reminded me of what my family went through as we saw my grandmother's health decline. 35:43 was so important for me because in Hinduism as well, women aren't supposed to be at the cremation site but all of my close female family members were present. I was skeptical about going into the indoor cremation room where her body would be put inside the furnace but like Sanam and Mahira brought up, it's so important to get that closure and see the body go. Thank you, thank you so much, these issues go along religious lines and they are cultural changes that need to be made.

Sanam Saeed I believe is an Aquarius. I am as well and I know a few people that have the same horoscope. She was spot on when she described how sometimes we are viewed as ice cold. I always have symbolized Sanam's presence with elegance, beauty and strength and I think most of it has to do with how sure she is of her self. There's something strikingly calm about her presence and I believe it stems from her coming to terms with her true self from within (my guess at least).
