Sanchaar is a folk art form practised in western parts of Odisha and parts of Chhattisgarh adjoining to it. The art form is a rare combination of singing, dancing and music. The performer has to sing, dance and play music simultaneously. A lead performer with mridanda and two other performers with cymbals form a team. In this video, well known Sanchar 'baadak' (lead performer) Alekh Sahu performing Sanchaar with his two 'gaahaks' (accompanists). Location: Brahmapura Jagannath Temple, Jharuapara, Sambalpur.
