Dave Mustaine produced their first album and they opened for Megadeth in like 88 or 89. Then they later became Nevermore.

Geoff Nicosia I think this was back in the 1980s sanctuary was before nevermore which started in the late 1980s early 1990s.

I was getting into the more extreme stuff when this album came out. Was completely blown away by it - and so were my friends who were on the same path that I was.

There was just far more music produced in the 80's, compared to previous decades, since technology had advanced to the point that it was getting easier to record and mix music. But that also means you had to do more sifting to find the good stuff.

Not really, because when they disbanded we got the even more impressive Nevermore.

They reformed for The Year the Sun Died and are about to embark on a tour in Europe with Joseph Michael singing. A new lp is in the works as well. It will be amazing.

The guy was right, Sanctuary split up too soon, 3 album isn't enough, when THIS WAS THEIR PRODUCT! WARELL DANE IT HIS FINEST. Yes, he went out with Nevermore, and he was masterful there. There was a big shift in Dane between Sanctuary and Nevermore, it shows in the lyrics. Sanctuary kicked ass, I SO WISH I could've seen them back in early 90s, when I was freaking 5 years old lol.

Welcome to great metal, I found Refuge Denied when it was released in the mid 80's as I am old lol and was hooked. Dave Mustaine of Megadeth produced their first opus. Sanctuary lives on as Lenny Rutledge recruited Joseph Michael on vocals, he is not Warrel but has a great voice.

That was me exactly back in the late 90s but the band was Snot. It was before they were even on Ozzfest, I just thought the album cover looked interesting so I bought it haha Great album.

I wouldn't call being in Sanctuary making it big. I mean they should have been bigger, but less talented bands were more popular, but somehow they never took off or lasted. American metal bands that are much more successful than them still have to work side jobs to make it in life.

I was like 3 years old when they were touring off of Into The Mirror Black... To have been able to have seen THIS tour here is PRICELESS to me. Sanctuary was amazing. Even that word still seems short of what they truly were. We all got screwed from the Record Company when they basically had a hand in why Sanctuary disbanded, after only 2 Studio Albums. Crazy man! I didn't care much for the album they put out when they reformed in, I think 2007, The Year The Sun Died. It has a few songs that have grown on me, but still, a far cry from Into The Mirror Black. I am , however, excited to hear their newest album, which should drop soon. New Vocalist, brought in Chris Broderick (Legendary Metal Guitarist). Let's see what the Future Holds, as Warell said himself, in Future Tense 😬

Totally agree! That was part of what I meant singing is one part of it matching the lyrics to the song PLUS constructing the vocal parts to match it is a real gift. Anyone can ride out on a cycle yelling they are hell bent for leather.

You have no idea how true that statement is brother. Wally was far beyond anything I coukd wrap my head around.i remember back way back I ran into him at Starbucks and. I saT down and I think he was talking about aliens and basicly being the wally I knew. mr baker basicly predicted a few things he told me that sanctuary would be back someday (this is when DNB came out) and at a later time after a few cold refreahments he basicly told me that there was gonna be a attack on our country and it was going be catastrophe enough so that it woukd effect every life every person that had a ounce of love in there heart. Actually the New Warrel Dane Album is over 40 minutes that his Vocals are on 100% The album was supposed to be over 80-90 minutes in length, and what you hear on the album is what Warrel Dane completed. Again the album is him singing 100% just cut short because he passed away during more songs done. Remember to always search the web and read what the artists that worked with him confirmed before posting crap and gossip on any social media site. His work is worthy and the best in songwriting ever in Music.
