“The Maze” is one of the few iconic trails that the extreme crawlers think about when you mention Sand Hollow State Park. With an “8” out of 10 difficulty rating, you need to be very confident in your machine. Large tires, skid plate, no front sway bar will certainly help, and have someone with you to spot in “iffy sections. While many obstacles are avoidable, there are several vertical and/or off camber climbs throughout the trail.
“You gotta be nuts” is a 40+ ft, almost vertical, climb in the middle of the trail that will get any level of driver to pucker up a bit! It has a bypass, but it’s also challenging!
The views on this trail are second to none! On the trail you are often looking off the edge to see Arizona, Warner Valley, and St George.
PLEASE SUBSCRIBE to show your support if you enjoy our videos. Thanks!
Machine breakdown:
Ryan - 2021 Rzr Turbo S Velocity 4 seat. 33” GBC Terramaster tires, System 3 wheels, SSS Skid plate, 33% low gear gear reduction, Rugged Radios.
Royce - 2019 RZR Turbo S Dynamix. 35” Maxxis Roxxzilla tires- sticky compound, HSP Seats, System 3 wheels, 33% low gear gear reduction, SSS skid plate, Rugged Radios.
Eric - 2019 Kawasaki Teryx 4. PRP Seats, 32” Sedona Rockabilly Tires, System 3 wheels, SSS skid plate, FTGU clutching, HCR long travel, King shocks, Rugged Radios.

So I just did this trail at this year's UTV Takeover and to the people that are watching this video and thinking that all this looks easy and small. I can't emphasize enough about how incredibly steep these climbs are. Video does these absolute no just WHAT SO EVER. You gotta be nuts is the most intimidating climb ever,it's absolutely huge and extremely steep. I took the "bypass" and even it is very sketchy. I did the entire trail in a bone stock Krx 2 seater on stock 31's but I took a couple bypasses. It's definitely not for the faint of heart.

I have always wanted to go to Utah and ride. I have a Can-Am x3 xds Max turbo R 35" tires lot of after market parts. I am in a wheelchair lost both my legs t my work in 1993. I go riding with my family the only thing is they don't like rock climbing I love it. But I don't like going out places like this alone. I would like to find some people to go riding with when I go down there. After I lost my legs I got in to drag racing when i stop I was making pass 7.65@165 . I raced mini sprints on dirt. It is awesome the way you guys rock climb my kind of riding.

Love your vids guys! Coming out there for the 2nd time next weekend. My bro and nephews just met y’all and you showed them triple 7. We just were in Moab and did cliff hanger gold bar rim Golden spike and rusty nail. When I was in sand hollow I only had a partial day and we did part of plan b and I jumped in and did the chute In my stock Rmax 2. Can’t wait to try it again with 32s and 70” wide. The Maze is my favorite area over there- but to be honest, I did more of it in my OG Maverick 4 seater with 30s than with my new X3 RC with 32’s. The 2 seater just doesn’t handle it as nicely as the longer car IMO. Not to mention I drove my 4seater for 4 years and have only had the 2 seater for 2 months. Great video as always!
@OffCamberInd
@OffCamberInd 3 жыл бұрын
The Maze definitely is easier in a 4 seater! Those vertical climbs feel a lot more sketchy in a 2 seat. You can for sure get through on 30s, but have to be more selective on which options you take. It may be my favorite trail also -Royce
