I’ve played with guys who have supposedly played County 2nd XI and they aren’t a patch on Shareef. He is quality, but if he could play with a little less risk he’d make big runs. I’m sure he’s due a massive score soon!

Excellent game and video. The footage is getting better and the regular score updates definitely enhance it. Sanderstead appeared to win this through far superior running between the wickets. Even just from the footage shown there were so many well taken singles and 1s turned in to 2s. The difference in a close game. Also, congrats on reaching the 2k subs.

Love coming home after my league fixture on a Saturday and watching/following the boys. It seems such an amazing club with fantastic facilities! I've watched every single upload several times Tyler and Shareef are very gifted batsmen and time the ball perfectly they should be averaging 40-50 easily per game and even more in the Dev games. I think they'll be kicking themselves every week with their dismissals this year! Never seen a guy like Simon to get so much swing on a ball when he can get the ball working?! Jacko looks a very decent all rounder. Brilliant footage and great commentary :-) Elliot from Kent.

@SandersteadCCTV looks great, I want to get back into club cricket here in birmingham, can bowl well no issue, but in the field get an overwhelming sense of nervousness and worry I will muck up, this anxiety stops from going for it

Shyam Kotecha you are not alone. Many people feel irrational anxieties, and not just in cricket. Most clubs are supportive and understand that some of us have a fear of messing up - you could ask to field “out of the way” initially, or maybe do extra fielding practice to build confidence. Remember that the anxiety is not really based on anything real - what’s the worse that can happen? Worse would be to not give it a go and have the regret. Also recommend you watch the Sky Sports series called MindGames about how our minds can prevent even the best sportsmen from achieving their potential. We hope to feature a video on these issues at some point. Good luck!

Thanks again for sharing your excellent videos, I am assuming that you are using a home video camera, but are you using a tripod? Or some form of anti shake device? No matter what the case your camerawork is great, thanks. You can’t beat a village cricket match, competitive but ultimately friendly, no prima-donnas, just likeminded player’s enjoying the game.

It’s great fun - and you are right that recreational cricket can give so much more pleasure and community value than league stuff. You can find a link to all the gear in the description section beneath each video - but I do use a tripod, it is essential. The early games were handheld and suffered for it. Sanderstead CC TV thanks again, and I hope that once this awful period is over you will be able to resume your filming. 😀👍🇬🇧🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 nearly forgot, I have watched about 4 or 5 now, going to limit my viewing per day so that I have something to brighten my days in isolation, unfortunately I am in the at risk group so even though I am not symptomatic I have at least another 12 weeks isolation except for my careers coming in once a day, oh well, better than the alternative, stay safe and well and hope to see new videos when all this becomes a distant nightmare. Correct - it is a 100 over game, with the side batting first allowed a max of 55. Not the best format, but it sort of works with the bonus points available

Don't know for sure - we'll try and do some speed tests sometime, on video of course. He reckons this game was the quickest he's bowled - no idea what that means in terms of MPH.

Im studying in the uk as a student I want to play County Cricket, if i play for your Club or any other club would i be able to make it to county Cricket(i hold an Indian passport and im in the uk on a student visa)

Hi - it's not easy as most counties have a huge network of scouts and there is also well-structured league cricket which enables counties to observe how multiple players perform. As an example, we had an overseas player from Pakistan for many years - he plays first class cricket in Pakistan and plays for Pakistan A - yet he couldn't attract the attention of any counties despite scoring hundreds of runs each season. Maybe if you could get an overseas pro position with a premiership side you may have a better chance - but unlikely to get noticed at Div 2 club like Sanderstead. Good luck though.....

i am not from UK..so ain't familiar with the cricketing system there. What purpose do these players play with? just of fun? or these matches are part of a bigger league?how does it work? a bit of a guidance and context would help here.Thanx

Hi G G - thanks for your question. This is serious cricket, but Sanderstead do play it with a real sense of fun. We play in Div 2 of the Surrey Championship League, which is the top league in Surrey. There are 10 teams in each division, so we are technically in the top 30 teams in Surrey. Most teams in the top divisions have an overseas professional and the odd ex- or current county player (when not on Surrey duty). For example, Surrey county players Ollie Pope, Amir Virdi, Freddie van den Burgh, Ryan Patel, Will Jacks etc played their league cricket in the Surrey Championship and will still play the odd game for their clubs. Hope this helps.....

Yes, many times. It’s actually the closest ground to where I live. A simple YT search for “Old Whits” should bring all the games up.

Why does the ground seem to have small boundaries?

Mainly because it is a small ground! However, the telephoto lens does make it look smaller than it is. Straight boundaries are about 55yds, and square is about 65-70yds. It produces great games of cricket.

Hello sanderstead CC.ive been an avid follower of your videos which inspired me to do the same with my club..I invested in a gopro.I am a wicket keeper and so it was all the more an exciting opportunity to film and create content..I just uploaded a video but had to take it down as someone from my club flagged that it could pose a harm or have safeguarding issues when someone under the age of 16 is involved in the video..I just need some advice on this.Is there any policy or general law that you need any specific form of consent to film.?.I've been photographed several times by the local newspaper guys and published on the paper but nobody came to me and asked if that was alright..

@@iPro3million I quite agree I should. This was uncalled for. I was lashing out at something else and this came to me. I was actually watching the game and was interrupted, the interrupter should have 'copped'. I think these videos are great and am thoroughly looking forward to next season. I now live a 30 mile round trip from the nearest ground!
