Sandown Racecourse Stewards' Room: Do you agree with the decision?

Jockeys Jamie Bargery and Daryl Jacob are in the Sandown racecourse Stewards' room after Jamie won the 2018 Matchbook Imperial Cup. Daryl Jacob argued that interference and intimidation from the Bargery-ridden Mr Antolini had cost his horse, Call Me Lord, the race win.

The science behind stick use, (Professor Paul McGreevy, University of Sydney) is that it rarely aids horse straightness. Equally, all horses have a side preference, just as we are left or right handed. Furthermore, when you have two horses upsides with one another in the closing stages of a race, it is feasible that the outside horse may lean into the rails.

I saw that replay and that much bumping on the side made me think that stewards don't know how to call the race right!!

Can i ask a genuine question ...do stewards ride or have practical knowledge of horses? There is no reason to 'BUMP' another person's horse. Not unless you mean to it can be avoided.

@@silverkitty2503 Well even in Horse Racing there is a thing called "bump draft" and "side bump draft"! Plus it's just simple incidental contact!

A clichéd and embarrassingly ridiculous thing to say. You have just watched a video of who decided which horse won (you did actually watch it right?) and neither horse was favourite or a particularly low price either. The favourite was beaten anyway and not involved here.

Call Me Lord, had EVERY chance to WIN- The BEST horse on the day WON, in recept of almost 2 STONES from Call Me Lord!

How exactly did Call Me Lord have every chance to win when the horse was squeezed for room and bumped towards finish? The horse is up against the rail which is to its right and can only run up the rail or drift off it but the other horse leans on him.
