My friend was forced to get generics starting January 2020, also his costs went up too. Insurance companies aren't covering suboxone anymore, which is probably why they also make Sandoz in the same lab.

Just got these for the first time today. I only need 7 strips a month and pay out of pocket so normally the cost isn’t a big deal for me. I normally pay around $80 but was surprised when I was rung up at $62. Then I opened the package and saw it wasn’t the brand name. I was freaking a bit as I’ve heard the horror stories about Dr Reddy bran. But I did a little digging and found your video along with some others claiming exactly what you said, which was a big relief! Really put me at ease, so that’s for that. Also I think it’s important to note that these aren’t simply generic like the other 2, but generic relabeled brand name. Same factory, same everything. I think in the future I’ll have my Dr emphasis brand name on my prescription for sanity sake. I won’t let $20 break my peace of mind, lol. Thanks again

Thank you sooooo much for this video!!! Just like most commenting, I have been on name brand suboxone for 6 years. Last year they wanted me to change to generic as well, I didn't want to, so what my doctor had to do was send in what's called a PA (prior authorization) saying that medically I need to stay on the name brand stuff. They approved it for a year, up until it expired yesterday when I went to fill my script. The doctor did the same PA and it was denied. The insurance says i need to try the generic first. My doctor also said that after this months of generic script we'll send in another PA saying I had adverse effects. Then insurance SHOULD approve the PA and name brand suboxone. BUT thanks to rfus video, I did not get Dr Reddys and had them change it to Sandoz, so thank you!!! I haven't taken any yet but your video helped my anxiety. So for those others, you can still at least TRY getting back on suboxone if you want, tell your Doctor to send your insurance a PA stating the generic does work, gives you headache, stomach ache, depression, whatever, even if it's not the full truth. That could work in getting you back on the name brand.

When I first got the generic strips, they gave me the Dr Reddy’s brand at Walgreens and I heard CVS had the Sandoz version so I went there this month and I love them. They look the same, taste the same, and have the same effects as the name brand.. at least that’s my experience. They’re made from the same place that makes the name brand that’s why.

My pharmacy just switched from sandoz to alvogen. I was kinda freaked out at first but your videos helped to put me at ease. I saw another video of a woman saying the alvogen strips made her sick after a few days so I am still a little worried but hoping that was maybe just some kind of rare occurrence or a coincidental illness. The white bluish suboxone for me are just as good as the real thing. I'm in NYC and I had the original brand for yrs since the octagon pill days, then fell into an HMO insurance and starting getting genetics. I'm now getting the super duper genetics which is yellow (the packet) the sub is always hard like cardboard and breaks easily into pieces, also I noticed the yellow ones aren't as strong. Nalaxone wise they do block effectively, but buprenorphine wise they don't hold as long. I'm going to switch pharamacies. Although the pharmacy other than suboxone is good, they are always on time with my medication, but that one med (sub) isn't what I like. I also get my Clonnies from there too and they are also good for that.

Oh yes the yellow ones. By far the worst of the generics. Luckily I only had the other ones for one month while CVS got their shit straight. I definitely understand what you're saying about it does block it but just not as long withdrawals kick in faster.. I wanted to stay with CVS cuz like you I get my my anxiety medication there too my Valium but luckily was only one month thing and now the Sandoz is much better. Thanks for watching and keep going strong with your recovery!

Cheryl Binns i feel the exacty same way. So i just switch to generic on monday. Ive been on brand name for 4 years. I was super nervous to make the switch because change scares the shit out of me. So after i took my first strip on monday i couldnt even tell a difference, and was very happy with the result. But when i took my 2nd dose, i started feeling almost sick to my stomach and immediatly started feeling my mood change. It is really wierd how they make me feel. Its not a strength thing either, i didn’t have a single “withdrawal” feeling at all. Just sick to my stomach and depressed mood. It is now Thursday and nothing has changed. Maybe its just mental? I dont know. Was just glad to see i wasn’t the only one to feel that way. P.S. i take the 2mg strips. 4mg a day Also Dan, thanks for the video. Great information.

I was on the brand name SuB for at least 7 years till last month when I went to the pharmacy and they gave me the Sandoz generic. Now I knew this was coming. There is whats called the AGV ( authorized generic version ) which is made the same as the brand name from formula to manafacturing in the same way as the brand. Sandoz is the AGV for Indevior ( Brand name ) from what I read I think. But if you notice generic or brand can have weaker batches sometimes. I noticed either this is a weaker batch or it's my system getting used to this generic. I hope. Ive had to take extra some days and will have to take less till the next script. I might ask to go up by one strip as I feel its the same as 2 brand. The other issue is inactive ingredients. The brand had provoloneK90 in it which is a delivery system. Sandoz does not have this. It seems all the quality meds have changed to cheap chinese meds
@waffledninja6278
@waffledninja6278 4 жыл бұрын
Only the Truth 1 You are spreading misinformation on this generic drug, Sandoz. You can view the active AND inactive parts of Sandoz in the document I am providing. Sandoz DOES include the inactive ingredient povidone K90. I switched from suboxone and can not tell any difference at all with this generic. It is even manufactured in the same warehouse as Suboxone and I believe it’s the same exact thing. Makers of Suboxone just want their hands in both cookie jars. They will make their money either way, why make the generic worse when it probably costs nothing for them to make either name brand or generic. I’ve been taking Suboxone for 11 years. I hate all the generic brands. I will say Sandoz is the best generic brand. I can tell a major difference. The name brand I let it dissolve for a hour. Sandoz I let it dissolve for 40 -45 minutes. I get a better head change from it.
@kbuhs13
@kbuhs13 4 жыл бұрын
Just fyi after 5-7 minutes all of the active ingredient is absorbed into your system. Waiting longer than that for the medicine to dissolve is a waste of time. You will not get any more of the medication past 7 minutes even if you still have some in your mouth. Actually if you read on the Package of paper that comes with your subs it states this information!

I'm here to tell everybody that the generic are not the same as the real one's. I have been taking Suboxone strips for the last 15 years off and on, and there is something that the real one's do differently, mental and head feeling wise, that the generic Alvogen does not. Sandoz is more like the real Suboxone than any of them and is the closest to the real one's. I have been taking the Alvogen (yellow package) one's for about 3 weeks now, and my head feels different and they are not giving me the same type of mental drive as the real brand. It's not in my head, I can tell you that whether they tell us if the same stuff is in them or not, there is not the thing in the generic and the real one's. The real one's also taste and smell way more potent and like strong citrus, while the Alvogen hardly smell and are way less harsh, so that right there tells you it's different too. Anybody who has been off and on on these will tell you that the namebrand is more potent than the generic, and the Sandoz are closer, if not pretty much the same as the bamebrand, if not a tiny bit different. The Dr. Reddy and Alvogen one's are more in the same league, and Sandoz and the namebrand Suboxone are in a very similar league. The real one's do have side effects that the Alvogen one's do not, but then the real one's were doing more for my head and mental state then the Alvogen, so I guess I just got to deal with it now, but if I had a choice of any, I would go with the Sandoz one's.

@UCzMOEqCq4QHw8_64PotieMA I know the naloxone is the blocker, and I know that the buprenorphine is the opiod, but I heard from some people that the naloxone is what gives you that boost and energy, and the buprenorphine is the pain killer that attaches to your feel good receptors. Oh, I know alot about it, I just never got too deep into studying the naloxone, and what else it may be doing besides being a blocker, because I knew someone that got on the subutex, and they told me it was not giving them the energy that the Suboxone was. I took Subutex before, and it did seem to be a tad bit weaker without the naloxone, but I don't know, everybody's body and brain is different.
