This is a never before seen video of Sandra Bullock when she was a cheerleader at Washington Lee W-L High School in Arlington Virginia. In November, 1981 the big game was between W-L and Yorktown, both North Arlington Virginia High Schools who had a fierce rivalry . After all, W-L opened its doors in 1925 and was the only high school in the county until Wakefield and Yorktown opened in the 1950's. Yorktown had previously damaged W-L pressbox, and at this pep rally, Sandra Bullock was in charge. Glad that the fellow W-L folks from 25 years ago have been enjoying seeing these old videos. This video was taped by Binky Bloch who owns the original tape and is under copyright by him and may not be used by anyone for any purpose. All rights reserved.

by the way... In spite of Sandra's best efforts we (Yorktown) won that game.

Fun little video. Unfortunately, Arlington County found it necessary to tear down the older W & L, and replace it (still under construction), with the most expensive HS in the State. It was even built higher than County code permitted, but what the heck, we simply changed the height restriction limit. We also enjoy highly paid teachers, who salaries currently average over $72,000. Not bad for working 8 months a year.

That is you! I never noticed before. I saw Scott Mudd sitting on the end behind Sandy, and also saw Mr. Mitchell (PE teacher) standing off to the side. At about 1:33 or so, the camera zooms in across the gym floor where the kids in the class of 1983 were sitting, and it appears that Laura Mason, Susan Wray and maybe Ruth Ann Schlank are on their feet dancing. Anyway, sharp eye on your part. Wonder what ever happened to that Sandy girl ..........
