After 11 years we finally made our way back to the Sandy Cape campground - this time in our caravan and with Oz, the dog. And it lived up to our memories and expectations. We had glorious days spent on the beach, sandy sunsets and happy hours that went forever!
Sandy Cape is a low-cost campground with plenty of sites located justa few kilometres north of Jurien Bay. We had no issue pulling in with our 21’ ZoneRV caravan and the Ram 1500 - it’s a big rig but we found a campsite to fit us comfortably. We paid online directly with the Ranger who came past after we setup - there’s a maximum stay of four night at the Sandy Cape campground but we spoke to the Ranger and given it wasn’tpeak period were able to stay an extra four nights.
The people we met were likeminded, cruisy and up for a sunset drink - who could ask for more?
Sandy Cape Recreation Park is located 10 kilometres north of Jurien Bay. It is a recreational beach camp with 88 sites accessible via two-wheel drive vehicles and more camping spots are accessible via four-wheel drive vehicles only.
The road into the camp is five kilometres of sealed road and two kilometres of compacted limestone gravel. As well as the campsite, there is parking for day visitors, barbecue facilities, picnic areas, walkways and some of the most stunning beaches in the region.
The campground has eco-toilets and non-potable water - you must bring your own drinking water. There are no powered sites or showers available.
