I live in Florida, hurricane Michael was in 2018 and Panama City is still working on the rebuild. Hurricane Ian was bigger and stronger, it’s going to be many years before they recover from this devastating storm.

Living here in St Petersburg I am interested if the State or the Federal Govt is doing any studies on how the latest buildings built to code faired. I would like to see the status of high-rise condo buildings.

Exactly. There was a video of a more-recently built house that was reinforced above code on Carlos Circle, Ft Myers Beach. It held up well but, there were also 4-5 other houses on the circle that were built 1950-90s that held up well. Maybe hurricanes are choosy.

Maybe several years, the devastation to our Florida coastline has been extreme.

Try it in about 5 years, that is if anyone is stupid enough to rebuild on a barrier island.
