People hyping up akainu is so much stranger to me. Like nah heis is speaking facts here. The only time akainu even got a hit on whitebeard was when the later had a literal heart attack, once WB truly went in he was literally nothing more than a punching bag

The only time WB could do damage to the Admiral was when he attacked from behind while Akainu was distracted and focused on catching and killing Luffy. Also, the statement that WB was old and sick will not work, since WB fell into a rage mode because of Ace's death, and completely started ignoring any damage and used all of his power. And Akainu easily tanked his strongest attack right into the torso, which destroyed an entire island in the New World (Confirmed in the databook "Yellow") and Marinford itself completely. and Akainu was still conscious and was about to get up, but the ground under him fell into the abyss and even after that, he started fighting WB's entire crew by himself. And the fact that the Admirals were holding back to not to destroy the Marineford is hilarious.

@@Ichigo-gp9vq They only had two direct clashes from what I remember. In the first, it ended when Whitebeard had a mini heart attack and Akainu melted his chest. His second one was when Whitebeard snuck up and hit Akainu from behind and Akainu got up and melted his head off. Then Whitebeard split the island, Akainu fell into a crevice and continued pursuing Luffy instead of going back to tussle with a dead man.

@@CatotheE form what I remember the only attack from Akainu that made whitebeard notice it was that punch in his chest. Other than that I only remember Akainu getting picked up and punched + him coughing blood before that.

@@Ichigo-gp9vq Then you should re-read the chapter. The anime made Whitebeard look much better. The only time that Whitebeard made Akainu notice was during the sneak attack and is follow up after Whitebeard took off over a third of his head.
