Actually it's the badge that paula gives after you getting the key to open the jail in earthbound and with it ness survives the mortal one shot lighting atack from carpinter Franklyn badge was used by ninten in mother one Used by ness in earthbound (mother 2) And by lucas in mother 3

So, answering your question in the end of the video, the Steven After Not Surviving came AFTER the Sans is Ness theory (but funnily enough, it was only one month between each other, they both came out in 2016)

6:53 To be fair, Deltarune was planned since 2012 It was originally going to be the first game Toby created, but he gave up after a few rooms and repurposed Heartache and I think Bonetrousle for Undertale

From what I understand, it was thought of before undertale, but was never meant to be first. He's said before the story came from a fever dream, and he decided he'd make a different game first, and if it were successful he would make the story he dreamt of

your reaction was pretty fun merg, this was a nice video. sans telling you to learn the truth is in the game, only for him to prank you with a note that says you got owned in his room. you'll only learn about the three people drawing with the note "dont forget" after talking to clam girl that tells you about suzy and clam girl's dialogue was updated to telling you that "the time you will meet her is fast approaching" before deltarune's release, so maybe people aren't too crazy with the deltarune theories..?

12:08 And here is the biggest flaw in the whole theory (besides, you know, them being 2 different franchises): It specifically says that SANS is with a bunch of people you don't recognize. If Sans was still Ness at that point, which is necessary for the photos to be evidence, Frisk would not recognize him either.

9:10 - This was added in the 1st Undertale update, which was like 3 months after it released. Deltarune wouldn't be seen until almost 3 years after that. (Though yeah, the 'don't forget' part was likely meant as a hint toward it. The Switch port also had a rare interaction that hinted at Deltarune too... which released about a month later. 😅) 26:22 - Well, Mr. Sakurai seemed to make a little ("wink, wink") reference to this 'meme', after Sans got a costume in Smash Bros a few years back, in 1 of his "pic of the day" posts.

It's really strange to me how well crafted the theory actually is, it's just such a weird leap in logic and connection that doesn't really make any sense that makes it sound insane. In another world, this theory, despite its insanity, is so strong that it genuinely convinces parts of the fan base.

The funniest part about this theory is that it isn't that farfetched considering the information we had about Undertale at the time of its making. I could totally see an alternate universe where Toby purposefully put these details in as an homage to his favorite game.

Merg reacting to things is actually so entertaining though! Both this and the Underevent video were both really funny, actually... I'd love to see more of this! Undertale Event 2 (this is a separate thing that exists) might be a good candidate for that if you haven't seen it already, now that I think about it. It's essentially an official(?) Underevent shitpo- I mean a far superior event to Underevent. God I would LOVE to see the reactions to that >:). It's genuinely some of the peakest content I've ever witnessed
