Peter Hanes Lets hope Aegon doesn't turn out to be the same type of man Henry VII was (although I have to admit I find his morning of Elizabeth pretty sweet). But to be fair I think he did what he thought he needed to do to end all of the constant fighting between the Yorks and Lancasters. Just some of things he did (like getting that law passed so that the houses who fought against him were automatically guilty of treason so he could steal their lands, or the paranoia that caused him to imprison or kill many innocent people). I think overall he was well respected but mostly disliked (which kinda reminds me of Stannis) so I'm curious where GRRM is taking this. Though reading some of GRRM other works makes me think that there will be no real happy ending and all of the theories everyone has will turn out to not matter in the end.

+SJ N Their really isn't any evidence that Henry VII was a bad man or King, Henry VII was a generous ruler, who brought England back from the brink of warfare. He wasn't as charming as his son or granddaughter but in his youth all the reports about him was he was a very charming calm man. He was a good father, husband, son. The rumors of the "paranoid king" start up after the death of Prince Arthur and Queen Elizabeth, both losses Henry seems to take extremely hard. He actually pardoned many Yorkists when he first came to the throne, John de la Pole (Richard III's heir), his brothers, he left the little Earl of Warwick in the tower but didn't execute him till the Spanish demanded it, he even offered a pardon to Francis Lovell, who was Richard III's best friend (Who chose not to take it), and even Lambert Simmel, who was crowned as a rival King, he allowed him to work in the kitchens I believe. And idk what law your talking about but I've studied the Wars of the Roses for several years now and know of no law that stated Henry had the right to kill immediately. It was only after House York continuously rebelled against him that he took more drastic actions. Even so, most of the Yorkists fell in battle or afterwards due to wounds. The major ones Henry executed were the Earl of Warwick and Perkin Warbeck (Who I don't believe is legit so I don't think he's a real Yorkist), both of which were demanded by the Spanish in order to send Princess Catherine to marry Prince Arthur. Even so they were threats to Henry's rule. And his actions were typical of the time period, Edward IV executed his own brother, George Duke of Clarence and possibly ordered the murder of the mentally incapacitated Henry VI. So the idea that Henry was doing something out of the ordinary by executing people who were threats is a misunderstanding of the time period. And taking somebody's lands who had been attainted and executed was common practice for the time. I can't think of a King who didn't do this at one point. Edward IV and Richard III both did this during their reigns. Other then the Earl of Warwick, those men were hardly innocent, John de la Pole fled Henry's court and started open rebellion against him, Perkin Warbeck tried to take his throne, Francis Lovell as well started open rebellion against Henry (Although his fate is unknown, he probably died after the Battle of Stokes Field). They knew the game they were playing and they ended up losing. The idea that Henry went around killing all Yorkists around him has no bases in real facts. Neither is the claim that he was a miser, he (And Elizabeth) actually had a bad gamble problem when you look at his privy purse.

adamnesico I really, REALLY find Sansa/Sandor disgusting. First off hes's in his 30's while she's just a child (arguing she's of marriaging age doesn't make it any less gross). He's also NOT a good guy (running over innocent children with your horse is something that is NEVER redeemable). He's known for his savageness and has earned his reputation. He's a drunk. He was one of the men who slaughtered her fathers men and servants (killing men Sansa knew since childhood, he personally killed Cayn). He was creepy as hell with Sansa, manhandling and questioning her like a jealous lover (this happened a few times, more so when drunk). He was present when joffrey ordered her to be beaten and he didn't do anything to stop it, only refused to participate. And let's behonest... He's NOT attractive. Its not superficial to require some level of attraction to want to be with someone. I will never understand why anyone would want to ship such a piece of crap with a girl who was been through hell and back. At the very least she deserves a decent guy which he will NEVER be.

I agree... But I also think she was too young to really be blamed for it. She was what 11 when the books started? That's really too young to know better. I blame Catelyn & Ned more than her, they did a lot of really stupid stuff.

SJ N Catelyn is undoubtedly a catalyst. Ned was just too honorable for his own good. I always thought it would be amusing if Joffrey, Tommen, and Myrcella were actually Roberts children the whole time. Cercei just though they were Jaimes.
