The Santa Monica Pier is finally open after being closed for over a year! We went to go check out Pacific Park to ride some of the newly opened amusement park rides & to see what the Santa Monica Pier was like after being closed for 13 months.

The Santa Monica Pier was actually shown in a pandemic movie, and the VFX Producer was told to make the Pier look broken, it had a broken board walk, a broken Ferris Wheel, graffiti, broken Rollercoaster, the shot itself scares me in the movie, but watching this video it let's me know that it was just visual effects and that now the Pier is looking beautiful as always

Great video! The green patches are for the free summer concert series on the pier. They also have festival kiosks there on the weekend for shopping. You are correct Pier Burger is sneaky good. The best food is the Albright restaurant next to the Carousel. The other secret is the aquarium under the pier is really cool. It features all of the local marine life in the Santa Monica bay. Most people walk over it and never visit.

So nice to see things back open again. On top of the carousal being old it is one that is a heck of a lot of fun too. Have always wanted to ride the Ferris Wheel and never did it because of exactly what you showed. Pacific Plunge with the remote mic was the best ....loved it. A lot of people and not a lot of masks. May not be for us yet.

There was a lot of people but most people we saw who weren’t eating were wearing masks, but yeah it’s not like Disneyland where they enforce it so we had to be very careful to avoid all the non-maskers

Peter, I think a hat that would suit you would be an Irish Derby Cap. I like the hat you tried on at the hat stand. The one with strings. I have one like that. But I put the straps in the back of the head and tighten the straps which pulls up the side flaps. It makes it look like an Indianna Jones hat. Just a thought. Good luck on hat hunting! Does the food and drinks have information like how much sugar is in an item .I am diabetic. As of right now we on stay home for 28 days . so these vlogs are awsome I can travel but be home at same time.

At the pier? I’m not sure they provide any nutritional information there. Some places might provide calorie counts but I’m sure you could ask the individual places about dietary restrictions. I know you can do that at Disney

The Coaster reminded me how Primeval Whirl is with being so close to the track. An almost thought we were gonna see a Kitra Fish on this lol. It almost sounded the food was gonna get a Funeral March music.
