I am 66 and listen to Carlos everyday after my devotionals. I find his music slips right into hymns. He has the music of heaven in his soul and it comes out through his fingers in his music. There are many great guitarists, but only a few that put their soul into their music.

Siempre Santana. Con tu música crecí..Te adoramos en Peru. Viniste como en los 70 n los dejaron entrar del aeropuerto los devolvieron porque vivíamos en una dictadura en esa época. Y después de muchos años volviste y te presentaste en el Estadio Nacional en Peru y mi mente se reportó a los 70’s. Todos los cuarentones estuvimos allí. Todos aquellos que en los años 70’s nos dejaron con las ganas de verte. Y lo más lindo fue que a nuestros hijos que te escuchaban por primera vez les encantaste..seras eterno para las generaciones de ayer, hoy y mañana. Un tremendo abrazo desde Florida. Ahora vivo en USA. ESPERO UN PRÓXIMO CONCIERTO TUYO EN EL ARENA DE MIAMI.

That does not mean ,however,that you don't still dislike the group,that that person belongs to. Human nature,is a bit more complex than you portray. +flakjacket5 I was not one of those most people. Hendrix was fine if you were into acid and heroin. He was a great guitar player no doubt. He made sounds come from a guitar that most people had not heard before but I was not a big fan of him. You had to be stoned out of your gord to listen to Hendrix. I was around when Hendrix was alive and saw him play live twice. I was really disappointed both times. He was very sloppy and all over the place. I respect your opinion though..............to each his own.

This song is absolutely amazing to listen to. There are a lot of artists out there who can do great in the studio but not live and vice versa. Carlos Santana is one of those rare musicians who excels at both. Africa Bamba is a great song on the studio album but it sounded like it was missing something. When it was played live, everyone in the band sang it together and made it sound complete. This easily blows the studio version out of the water.

first of all its 0:19 and the acoustic guitar which he plays during the intro is connected to a stand, he was never holding on to the acoustic, the electric is strapped around his shoulder, so he simply steps up to the acoustic and then backs away from it... others have obviously done it too

I saw Santana live at a free concert they put on at the Punchbowl in Waikiki New Year's day 1971. Bunch of hippies grooving to that Latin beat. It was unforgettable!

I totally grooved on the rhythmic beatings of this song, especailly the overture playing by Santana's guitar. I enjoyed the Bossa Nova musics very much. Thumbs up the band!
