I try to squeeze as much into my day as possible. This is also true when I ride, I try to squeeze in another lap when I know I will probably be late to work. The last 2 times I rode my Decoy I was running late so I just put it in my garage showered and headed to the restaurant. Charging the bike never crossed my mind. This was the 3rd ride I had on this bike without a charge so when I turned it on I only had 3 bars (which was actually only 2.5 bars because I lost the 3rd bar at the beginning of the ride). I also moved the first week of July and still have not unpacked all my boxes. My charger is in a box in my gargage somewhere.
I wasnt nervous when I saw that I had 3 bars but as soon as it dropped to 2 bars after the first climb I knew I was in trouble. I normally ride the bike on Eco but that first ride I had it on Trail mode so I it used more juice. towards the middle of the ride I only had 1 bar left and I started to get pretty stressed out. I know I could pedal the Decoy if I had to but I was more concerned about how long it would take becuase I had to get back to the restaurant.
I finished the ride with only 1 mile left. It was stressful but I made it. When I got home I made it a point to find my charger it took me about 30 min but I finally found it. I felt bad I was so late since the restaurant was really full. Later that day a customer told us that we won "Best Vietnamese Restaurant in Orange County" in the LA Times. This was a huge accomplishment for us because OC has the most Vietnamese restaurants in the world outside of Vietnam!
