Sanwa’s JLF is a classic, and the standard for arcade quality joysticks. Renowned for its smooth and precise movement. Could it be better, though?
That’s exactly what the Otto DIY V5 mod kit aims to do. The V5 kit upgrades multiple key functions of a joystick with extremely high-quality parts, including a pivot made of Teflon. In this video I’ll show how to install it, discuss its performance, how well it achieves its goals, and who I would recommend it to.
The Otto V5 kit is also compatible with Hori’s Hayabusa lever, which is itself an attempt at upgrading the JLF design. I’ll go over how the two compare, and if there’s any sense in modding a lever that already claims to be an upgrade.
