A very good machine and a great job done by You. I have the same model since 2007. Had to replace the belts twice: they are too thin and do not last. Also, replacement of almost all of the electrolytic capacitors improved the sound noticeably.

Wat a great job you did. I own the same model without the short wave radio. When I got mine 5 years ago, it was filthy and didn't work. I got it from a friend who cleaned out a hoarders home. I took it apart and cleaned it inside and out just like you did. I got it to work. It has amazing sound. My only issue was that fucking tape deck. I needed the 4 belts. When I finally got the belts, it was a pain in the ass to put them in. I managed to do it. Shortly after I picked up the schematic for repair and I managed to find the original microphones and holders for them and also managed to get the original demo cassette tape these were sold with. Anyway, I put the belts in and it worked for 2 weeks. Then it stopped playing. Dammit! I thought the motor was bad. I went on eBay and ordered a new used deck just for the motor. I put in the new motor and still the same shit. It wouldn't play. It was that bottom 5.4 square belt. It was no good after buying the new one. I finally got the new belt and put it in. Now it plays but fast forward won't always work or rewind won't always work depending on the tape how much is on the side of the spindle causing weight. So, I went and got a 5.1 belt and just put it in. It's a bit tighter and won't slip. It plays well but still have the issue with fast forward and rewind not being able to move the tape. I am going out of my fucking mind. I just want this thing to work properly. I don't know what to do anymore. I cleaned all the grooves where the belts go on the pully system and gears. I am disgusted and tired of opening this thing up. My eyesight is very bad and I can't see well to do these things anymore. I wish I knew you so I could pay you to have a look at what can be wrong. Well, at least yours works. :( .

If you break the radio dial cord get ready to suffer ! You know....

U SURE know what U R doing. Y not take out the tape deck and some how replace it with a USB and MP3 player? Cassettes are VERY old fashion and no one uses them as they chew up, take snillions of years to rewind and fast forward AND MOST cassettes are TERRIBLE quality. Anyway you are doing a very good professional job. Well done.
