This is a very confident directorial debut for Gerwig. I watched this with employees of a Landmark Theater and they see a LOT of excellent cinema. One comment that got everyone nodding: "There was no flab, everything counted, nothing needed to be trimmed or cut." A truly satisfying film experience that has amazing nuance and is easy to apprehend. WELL DONE LADIES!
