Aidan, Everyone will thoroughly enjoy this film. However, if you’re of Irish and Italian ancestry, you will absolutely love this film. One of my favorite scenes in this superb film is when Tony takes Eilis to meet his family and they have a traditional Sunday Italian meal. I felt as if I was watching a scene from my own “half-Gaelic, half-Garlic” family. Tony taking Eilis to Coney Island is another great scene. Ms. Ronan looks so beautiful in her Kelly green bathing suit. “Brooklyn” director John Crowley quipped that Ms. Ronan’s green bathing suit might become a “second National flag of Ireland.” Ms. Ronan responded that “that flag might still be a little damp.” I think we all would like to salute that flag!
