Sapper Leader Course is a demanding 28-day leadership development course for combat engineers that reinforces critical skills and teaches advanced techniques needed across the Army. This course is also designed to build esprit de corps by training Soldiers in troop leading procedures, demolitions (conventional and expedient), and mountaineering operations. The course culminates in an intense field training exercise that reinforces the use of the battle drills and specialized engineer techniques learned throughout the course.

Congrats to all who EARN THE RIGHT to wear the SAPPER tab. What an awesome leadership course. Comprehensive and challenging. Kudos to the instructor cadre, too.

Thank GOD ( Father, Son, Holy Spirit) that You Soldiers and Marines of Today's Armed Services can attend and earn the SAPPER Tab, for when I was a Food Services Specialist, Parachutist Qualified, MOS 92G2P, Post- Marine Corps,@ Schofield Barracks, Hawaii ,with 65th Engineer BN, 25th ID( L), the 12Bs could not wear the Tab , when I was in the Army from 1993 to 1998. Times have surely changed.🇺🇸🦅🗽🛡️💪

I attended the Sapper Leader Course back in the year 2000 when I was in the 4th ID and even though a knee injury took me out of the school during patrol phase. I have to say that that was one of the most rigorous and intense schools I had ever been through. Overall, it was one of the best experiences I had in my entire Army career.

@@satchemo24 hey, thx brother.....I am only Sapper Tabbed, but you do not have to be a Ranger in order to attempt Sapper School....now, if you are an instructor for the SLC, you must be both Ranger and Sapper qualified...a Sapper can be an instructor, but only for GS phase and you will be slotted for Ranger school in order to be a fully qualified as a Sapper Instructor...

Hard to believe I did this school 24 years ago. We didnt get tabs then so we bought them from ranger joes and sewn them under the left breast pocket flap and ironed the pocker so the tab shown through the pocket. This was back in the woodland days when we still blended in with the woods....lol.

I always want to be sapper and join ranger untill I want to combat special soldier but unfortunately I injured my knee in 2005 in camp liberty Baghdad while jumping from LMTV as a gunner with full load of ammunition and 50 COW.I still regret.May be in my next visit to earth.Ha Ha

Sappers are elite guys. You have to be extremely smart and a badass soldier. They are combat engineers. So badass guys that can blow shit up and build whatever a unit needs to advance.
