The SAPS has begun its 2024/2025 recruitment process, raising the age limit for new trainees to 35. Ten thousand new recruits will be trained to serve as men and women in blue. Disciplined, upright and passionate candidates have been encouraged to apply. We find out more about this from criminologist, Kholofelo Rakubu. #dstv403

Criminal justice graduate but not willing to suffer the pain of serving on the force, not willing to chase after criminals and mest importantly not willing to put your life on the line to protect and serve... What good is such a person

I agree with the proffessor's approach as the government only sends people to school, but do not employ them in the end of which theres completely no ROI and graduates are left in limbo

Your statement is invalid🤦‍♂️but also not completely incorrect🙃education is one thing, a human beings passion another thing, you can be educated and trained as a police graduate but if your natural passion is not there, passion is instinct, and there is no qualification that can replace the nature of a human being, there is a difference being trained and being passionate, passion takes you further than any education can, at the core of education is passion and sadly a lot of people in the police is only there for salary and government incentives like medical aid ect ect when the role of the police extends far beyond that, the police serves an critical and one of the most import roles in society at reducing inflation of the country as they are frontliners and serve an direct engagement role to consumers which is the general public, the more purchasing power an consumer has, the better, its a balance though, but gang violence, drug activity, vehicle theft ect ect the cost thereof, the money spent on drugs by consumers/drug dealers, should be recirculating in the economy and not the black market, 100 millon in drug trade should be in the economy and not the hands of criminals, all those factors influence inflation between consumer and economy its very big to understand i just gave you an concept, your statement actually breaks my heart coz there is many maybe not appropriately qualified, but driven by passion when there is qualified serving the police standing around and talking, just driving around, your statement is very self centered and portray an big lack of understanding🙃, deaths related to gang/gun violence? Their people has to pay thousands to bury them, whereas that money spent on burying them, could be recirculating in the actual market of the economy, so yes she's 100% right about what she is doing, your statement is questionable about your own ethic of your OWN job...think before you judge cause maybe you dont understand fully🙃

The process must be supervised by all interested parties to curb nepotism, and corruption.....The process is an emotional abuse of young unemployed South Africans. I don't think they should prioritise graduates if the requirements as per advert is Grade 12. And according to the advert the matric and drivers lisence are standard. Else make it a diferrent type of recruits.....it should be internship but not learnership if we are to prioritise graduates and should come with higher stipent

SAPS is doing very well age means nothing compares to your relevant qualifications 18 to 25 yrs old in a possession of grade 12 only should go back to school and get a relevant diploma or degree just to prove their interest SAPS organisation is not just your escaping window of your laziness just go to school young blood no more quantity but quality objective.

this lady is not speaking sense because the main requirements to become a police officer, you need matric or a degree but what if now I only have matric but I am passionate about serving the community and want to be a police officer. Then I shouldnt be considered because I didnt go to varsity, like come on lady, you clearly have something against impoverished individuals and this is wrong.

They don't apply because to whites, Indians and Coloured being a policeman official is being persevered as below their standard, other races don't want to start at the bottom like majority of us blacks they want to begin at the top management because of they still believe their skin colour is superior to blacks that's why they feel entitled to supervisor black people

They shouldn’t have said 18 years old if they are looking for people who were at varsity and Graduated because it’s like giving matriculates fake hope because the people they are looking for are graduates they shouldn’t have left the 18 year old age out so that those kids who are waiting to be called to work at saps who want to be police’s they forget about that dream and go at varsity to study than wait for something that might be hopeless

So the Matriculants who could not afford to go school are automatically described loiters; that is incredibly ridiculous, tittles aside and i don't care if you are a professor. What you are saying is amazingly insensitive, this country is full of people who have passion far more than a person who went to school for a particular course. Just because you could afford to pay for varsity and i could not does not mean you are in any way better than me.
