Never heard of Bejlek before. Looked up her bio, surprised she was only 5'2 which is definitely on the short side for WTA. Some of those shots she had some serious power behind them. Was impressed and will look out for her in the future.

Loving that Elena's slowly but surely building an all court game by improving her volley skills and dropshots. She's not content to remain a "mindless ball basher" from the baseline, nor just a "servebot". Onwards and upwards, Elena! 😄

Hats off to Bejlek, Elena dragged her all over the court but that little girl held her own. I'm impressed The score looked convincing but Elena had to save 15 break poitns and hit 0 aces. Still, whatever gets the job done, i'm happy with the result. Sabalenka is due for an ass kicking so im hoping we get a semi between them, or revenge against Collins.

Ryba is looking really sharp. So is Iga. Looks like these two are set for a Titanic battle.

Although, I'm super happy for Elena to win this match, I have to that I'm really really impressed by Bejlek's game. She has an incredible amount of power in her groundstrokes for a player of her size/stature. One to keep an eye on, for sure 😁

Stupid comments like "the winning machine" by the commentator are quickly picked up by the trolls, repeated and repeated and before you know it, she has turned into a robot! Elena is ANYTHING but a robot! She is a warm, sensitive human being that many of those tennis divas out there could learn from!

Bejlek is the quickest and fastest player in the WTA. That's why Rybakina has 0 aces. Many of Rybakina's serves would have been aces with other opponents.

Despite of the convincing result, that match was a bit of strange for Elena. Fearless play from Bejlek in the second set, but the service game of Rybakina today was surprisingly weak. Elena should watch out against Kasatkina or Putintseva in the next round if she wants to confirm her role as a title contender.

Had never heard of Bejlek, was positively surprised, she's very good. Rybakina amazing as usual, of course.

Good effort by the Czech, but that's about it. Amanda Coetzer, Melanie Oudin, Sara Errani, Jasmine Paolini, these girls were/ are super feisty but their fans shouldn't get carried away too much.

Too many unforced errors from rybakina 😢….many easy shots missed…she will not get these many chances in the coming round….her serve was also not up to usual level….many points went to breakpoints

Bejlek has great lateral movement. Many of the woman have poor anticipation and weak legs so they often watch balls zip by them not even trying to reach for it. There are a few women who can move and this girl is one of them.
