Loved your video. I lived in Havasu for 22 years. 1991-2013. I worked at the Chevron on the corner of Lake Havasu Ave and Mc Culloch for 14 years. When Hubby and I got married in 94 we hit 128. Hottest day ever!

Russ, this was a national RC meet its The IMAC Southwest Regional Finals, it's held every year at that club. These pilots fly a precision aerobatic pattern and then are graded on a point systems. There are several of these meets held in different parts of the country and then the finals are held in Florida around March...

Your videos are so cool! This one is particularly cool to me because it covers everything I love, stock car racing, rc airplanes, just the whole environment is my idea of heaven. I live in Pennsylvania and I wish I could afford to spend my remaining years in a place like this. I'd love to live in Arizona or New Mexico! I'm a retired long haul truck driver and I've seen the Southwest many times over the years but never had time to look around and enjoy. That's an awesome rc club! I belong to Johnstown PA rc club and our runway is grass surrounded by dense forest. I wouldn't know how to act not worrying about losing my models to the trees. Keep taking me to better places than here!

We were at Sara Park in Lake Havasu City about 3 weeks ago looking for the archery range which we never seemed to come across (out of curiosity as I am an archer). Thank you Russ for showing me where. That park is a gem in the region. Glad the RC Flyers are so active. I agree about Lake Havasu City area having the best sports facilities including the indoor natatorium pool. By the way we were on the water and saw the newest big development which will abut the state park campground and will include condos hotel single big homes and shopping and a new marina (all under construction). Big dollar neighborhood when finished.

I haven't seen those hobby remote planes in years! I didn't think they existed anymore. There was a place in Miami, Florida, back in the 1980s, called Orange Blossom Hobbies that used to sell small aircraft remote control planes. Thanks for the tour, always find something interesting to see💕

Hello Russ! So glad you stopped at Sara Park. My 1st time to see a gun range. I loved seeing the planes. My favorite part of video was the aerial view looking back over the entire area. It's nice to see the campers in BLM areas. Hope you enjoyed your lunch. I hope you have a good week Russ!

Ok so those planes are special. Those are the racecar versions of rc airplanes. They do stunt patterns and compete on a national level. Some, not all but some of those planes that are top ten nationally can cost around 10-15 gran. But to get all set up and ready does take a lifestyle way of life. I’ll stick to the race cars. Great vids big dawg!!!

Russ the RC air show was cool. That new marina at Havasu is super nice. Havasu is just beautiful. I missed out that's for sure. In 2006 was looking at a home there but family obligations kept us from that dream and it just snowballed from there. My heart will always have a huge love for Havasu even if it's from a far. Thanks for the ride along Russ. Be well.

I really do enjoy your videos learned a lot about the Arizona area . I laugh every time you say look at the view I’m like and? I’m not used to that kind of terrain I like trees. I’m trying to wrap my head around spending 4 to 6 months in Arizona during the winter months when I retire but it’s just not beautiful to me, it’s just a warmer place to me. Different strokes for different folks!!!

I'm a big fan of local stock car racing. I grew up in the northeast, and there are plenty of stock car racing tracks there. Being in Florida, we don't have any, at least in the area we live in. I just looked up Havasu 95 Race Track, and it looks great! If I ever get to visit the area, I'll plan around going to enjoy a day of watching the races. So much fun!

I always wonder how I never found those multiple public areas where boondocking is permitted in my "over 40 years" of exploring the American Southwest. Finding a safe place to spend the night has been a nightmare sometimes. I resorted to spending nights in noisy Truckstops, Walmart parking lots (prohibited everywhere in California) or finding a State or National Park with a campground (California State Parks are always full). My friend in Las Vegas built an RC car and ran it on the street but the neighbors called the Police because of the ruckus. 54 degrees is summertime temperature for us, Northerners. Your videos are very informative and always interesting, Russ. Thank you ! RICHARD

Havasu is one of the worst places to get fair, honest handymen! Took two years they got all my savings and NONE did jobs correctly or finished the jobs! Hopefully I can sell next year and get out! Can't even trust businesses!
