i've probably said this a million times. But, This entire album from her singing to the engineering is a masterpiece .............You just don't find this nowadays

I never forgot, I just never got my chance. I fell in love even more with this song during the 4 shows I attended at the Mirrorball tour. I remember the manchester night being front row and Sarah smiling at me during the guitar solo and I was so moved. I wished I wasn't sat beside my friend, I wished to be in love sat beside my future. Fast forward all these years on and I found what I thought was my future but, alas, "And you just walked away" ....... I'm now left broken, words left unsaid and "I cannot find the words to say i need you so bad" Many of Sarah's songs that I've known for YEARS are now becoming my musical therapist and musical hug because I feel I relate now fully. This was the love song that I sent to my very first boyfriend in 1998. We were so young. Tragically I lost him to heroin in 2001. I miss him always.

This album was played so heavily by myself, I was missing my best friend/soulmate, whom I was in love with, but life happened, and he had to move away. We talked all the time until one day we didn't. I found out shortly after that he was hit head-on, on the freeway, by an elderly woman who was driving the wrong direction. He died alone, within minutes, at the scene of the crash. I miss him every single day. He was my person 💔

This song has been with me since 1998. The first time I fell in love. There has never been another song that describes that moment in time the way this does. Pure genius.

This was my song. It was 1998. I was about to turn 18, he was 23..and every time I was close there was too much i could say that I forgot to tell him I love you. It all worked out in the end, I did tell someone else I loved them a few years later and we have been together since 2002, but I always wonder what would have happened if I would have found those words.

I come on here from time to time just to play this song. I have just about every CD she's ever released but like to come here and watch her on my big computer screen. I so love this song and it was in fact the first song that I ever heard by her, the song that introduced me to Sarah McLachlan. Then I saw back in "98" she was doing something called Lilith Fair and was coming to Mansfield, Ma. in August of 1998. Wow, I get to see all the other beautiful artist at one concert and hear her sing my most favorite song in the world. As the night passed and song after song played and the concert ended, she had not sung it. Never thought this 49 year old man (in98) could cry because a song was not sung but I did. I continued to love her music and over the years and I've attended 10 of her concert to include two meet and greets, Boston & Halifax, NS. I told her how she has never sung that song at one of the concerts i saw her at. Not sure I'll ever get to see her again but I can dream that someday she'll sing this song for me.

This is my favorite Sarah song, and there are many that come second, including Angel, which she dedicated to me twice, once with each of my service dogs. I have never heard her sing this live though. It is my goal to ask her to dedicate this to me. It has so much meaning, from the first lines- I have a smile, stretched from ear to ear, to see you walking down the road- it reminds me of the time I saw her in Ohio, I was standing in line, and the last time I had seen her, I had a panic attack, and she comforted me. This time, she looked up, and the biggest smile came across her face, and she crossed the room and gave me a huge hug and a kiss. I asked her if we could try this again. I will never forget the look on her face when she saw me. And then my face passed away suddenly and unexpectedly in 2019, and I never got to say goodbye, nor do I remember the last time I told him I loved him. So I have tattooed on my forearm- I forgot to tell you I love you xoS

Sarah, you capture lightening in a bottle with this song! So beautiful and so delicate and tender in the presence of love and being in love. I haven’t heard this song in a while and hearing this reminded me that I made a mixed cd for a boyfriend who I loved with every fiber of my being. I was brave enough to feel the love I felt and to feel so alive in all its glory. Unfortunately, he couldn’t return the love I felt or he couldn’t let go…. Being in love takes courage to be seen, flaws and all. We intrinsically need and want love. Be brave. Be seen. Take that leap of faith. Don’t give up on love, I know I won’t whether it’s reciprocated or not. I know I was brave enough to give and receive love (even if it was short lived). It was beautiful.
