It's been just over 2 years now since my Dad died. I was the one who found him. Ironically, I saw Sarah in concert just 20 days later. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to see her before the concert, I would have loved to ask her to dedicate this to my Dad, and I have no doubt that she would have. She didn't know it, but my Dad made so many of my Sarah moments/memories, possible. I wish he could have met her, to see the person who was always pushing me to be better, and to love myself. My father was my protector, always. Now that he's gone..... all I have is music and memories to look back on. This song was played at his funeral, as well as Angel, and I will remember you. I love you Dad, and I miss you more than you could know. But I realized today, that I wouldn't take away from you, the way you died- in your sleep, no suffering, no sickness, totally unaware. It was what we all hope and pray for when we think about how we want to die. My 2 service dogs both passed away within 16 months of my Dad, and my only solace, is knowing that they are all together, and that sometime soon, we will all be reunited. Until then, save my seat guys, I miss you, and I'll see you before you know it. Sarah, thank you for all that you have done for me. It won't be forgotten. Just a note, the smile on her face, that is breaking at the end, breaks my heart. I know that smile....

This song is so sad, my dad died 1 year ago today, he was 78 y.o. of cancer, and til the end he was worried about me, that leaves me feeling so guilty because I wasnt the best teenager to young adult, he was the only one that never left my side, the only one who had my back thru the worst of the worst. Dad I pray your in heaven because you were the best dad in the world , we miss you more than anything, I hope I see you again, love your 3 sons Rocco, Johnny, Mark and daughter Danielle ♥️🙏🙏🙏

I was 12 and now I'm 40, it's something you can never get over we have to learn to deal with it and move on. it's easier said then done for some of us. I'm sorry for you lose. you have the most beautiful heart and voice I've ever heard. Your songs are inspiring as well as been through some of them. We will not let it keep us down. My father passed away just over 2 years ago, and I too was the one who found him. It was unexpected, he wasn't sick. It's something I don't know that I'll ever get over. Ironically, I saw Sarah in concert 20 days later, and though it wasn't possible to speak to her before the concert to talk, she did send her condolences after. I wish I could have spoken with her, I would have loved for her to dedicate this song to my Dad that night

I will see you in Atlanta on July 30, Sarah, but your generosity has helped my family deal with the loss of wonderful brother and the strength of a superhero father. THANK YOU. Sarah exudes sweet, and heart. In her writing, vocals, melodies, and life.... It's why she's been, still is, and probably always will be the #1 artist in my opinion. Haven't found an artist that does all those those things better, let alone any one of them even.

Sarah… Your voice is second to none, angels would be jealous. For decades I have been listening to your music and for decades you’re the only one that can effect me the way you do. There’s a particular concert performance of Angel that from the first note I get chills and turn into a blubbering fool. It’s not a bad thing though. It has gotten me through many bad times. Every time I watch it I say to myself “Okay, this time I won’t cry!” Yeah well, that never happens and I’ve watched it literally hundreds of times. It gets me every time. It’s not even the lyrics, I can’t explain it. That’s not the only song of yours either that brings out my emotions. For some reason it doesn’t seem to effect my wife like that which always surprised me. Well, after all these years my dream is coming true and my wife got me the best birthday gift in over 30 years. Concert tickets to see you in a couple weeks! I’ve never been so excited! I was literally balling when I opened it. AllI said was “OMG!” and burst into tears, and hugged my wife crying. My kids were very confused. That said, I’ve been introducing her to your music and getting her up to speed so she can enjoy it more. It can’t be much fun going to a concert and not recognizing any of the songs except the major hits. I went through every song I could find by you and put together a play list for my wife. I just recently came upon this song. For me, its of course another gem, beautiful song. Unfortunately, I didn’t have a good relationship with my father growing up, let’s just say he was neither a good father nor a good man. When he passed, the only emotion I felt was relief but don’t feel bad. However, my father in law was an amazing man and the father I never had. I was extremely close to him and it was a tragic loss to our family. My wife was very close to him and misses him dearly every day. He’s been gone for 7 years. Today I played this video for my wife and all I can say is you did it! You made a song that also turns my wife into a blubbering fool like Angel does to me. She loves it! She’s been playing it nearly nonstop along with the rest of the play list I made. After all these years she finally gets it and actually hear you. There’s a big difference between listening to music and really hearing it. It takes the right music for people to have that epiphany, she finally had hers! Now we are BOTH super excited for this concert and I cannot wait to share this experience with my wife. We’ll be packing plenty of tissue because I know we’ll both be a hot mess. I’ll likely be in tears before you even come on stage simply out of disbelief that it’s actually happening and I’m really there. She doesn’t realize just how wonderful of a gift this will be for me. We’ve been together over 30 years and married for 25 this coming October. This will be bringing us together closer in a way and on a level that I can’t describe. This will be very special for both of us. Thank you for doing what you do and sharing your astonishing gift with the world Sarah. Anyone who doesn’t think your voice isn’t one of the best of all time doesn’t have a clue to put it nicely and that’s an understatement See you in Chicago in a couple weeks!🙂

How I wish that I could tell you It's to you that I would run You were the place that I could always rest my head When my world had come undone 'Cause I've been wrestling with my demons Telling me I have no choice How I wish that I could lean upon you now Amidst the chaos and the noise Your light buried the dark A constant unwavering heart You were the well to cool my fury Deep and calm your waters feel Your quiet words a salve to soothe my wayward soul It was there I learned to heal Your light buried the dark A constant unwavering heart Oh I hope that you can hear me Through the ravages of time You have carried me through more than you could know I still feel your hand in mine Your light buried the dark A constant unwavering heart Your light buried the dark A constant unwavering heart Source: LyricFind Songwriters: Sarah Ann Mclachlan / Tom Douglas / Matthew B Morris
