Mam, what you saw in kanchipuram silk saree collection (6,000 - 7,000 price range ) you will only get cheap silk saree. It's not original pure Kanchipuram sarees. But they didn't show you pure kanchipuram. For that you have look into bridal saree collection, which is in different section( 26,000 - more than 5 lakh price range). I think you didn't see that section of the store. I also watched your Hyderabad saree collection, they showed only pure kanchipuram silk saree collection. They don't have kanchipuram for 6,000 -7,000 price range.

I wanted to add one thing. The definition of Kanjeevaram you were using is actually a specific style of Kanjeevaram saree Kaled Korvai. The korvai sarees are the ones where the border and body are wowen separately. A Kanjeevaram saree is any silk saree that is wowen in Kanchipuram with certain South Indian temple motifs. So it is justified that they call those sarees Kanjeevarams, but it’s just not korvai Kanjeevaram. There are also many other styles in kannjeevaram silk sarees: vaira oosi, rettipet border, etc.

First of all, it is unfortunate that they didnot treat you properly as a customer. This happens in shops that are there for long time. They expect you to come with full family while this may not be possible. And not showing sarees properly is not right. I saw the sarees in ur video. Anythign less than 6-7k is not pure silk. It is semi-silk. Silk threads price has gone up considerably. Then from 7k-20k whatever you have seen is pure silk, mix zari. The zari is not pure zari. That is why it looks fake kind of shiny look. For pure silk, pure zari starting range for very very simple sari is 20k atleast. And now the fact that you mentioned zari and saree are woven seperately and then stitched together - the sarees in nalli are using interlocking technology which 10:59 will give a neat finish unlike the traditional weaving , especially when you are pleating pallu, interlock weave is easier to drape. One important reason why you feel kanchipuram sari has to be alightly more stiff is nalli is not adding starch to its silk sarees which gives that proper drape that does not slip. And in silk, it ia opposite of cotton, the fewer the thread count, the more high quality the silk. For buying a bridal style puri silk puri zari, we need to look at minimum 45k range. That is the original saree worn by our mom's time. And nalli 100 is relatively new store in chennai. Nalli chinnasamy chetty the smaller building opposite is the 90+ year old shop..

Hi ganeshji is not wearing lungi, its dhoti, and if u want original silk, u should ask for traditional kanjivaram, it's available in co-optex stores with silk mark, it will be bit expensive

If anything without silk mark, it is not silk. Whether it's a small shop or big brand. If you burn and it leaves ash, that also don't guarantee it is silk. It would be possible that it is mixed with some other natural fibres like cotton. If a saree is cotton and silk mix, still it will leave ash. Nalli once used to be trusted brand. My mom used to shop since I was a toddler. They didn't have these kind of cheap silk sarees back then which they claim to be "pure". In 90s etc people with class (not momey wise) only bought these sarees. We were also simple middle class family with a Chetak scooter but my mother valued art and purity. Even if she bought a single saree in a year or two, but would buy good one. Now it is pure marketing. And running after trend, all want "kanjeevaram". And now they are targeting and catering those people as well. And hence coming up with low range sarees claiming to be "pure".

You are immature in buying saree. With your half baked knowledge don't post an video. There is nothing wrong to learn first and then make an video. By the way I am from Mumbai, don't jump to the conclusion that i am from Chennai.

Original kanchipuram sarees are very expensive. If the silk sarees are longer than 5.5mtrs, it will be very uncomfortable to wear and carry the saree. The standard blouse length is 80cms while the width is lengthier in blouses attached to sarees. Gain more knowledge about sarees before making a video.
