The SARS-CoV-2 Ag antigen rapid test is used to detect a capsule protein of the virus (=antigen), and can thus make an acute infection at Covid-19 visible. The test is carried out by taking a sample from the nasopharynx, and medical personnel evaluate the test in just 15 minutes. The test is suitable for symptomatic and asymptomatic individuals and can also be performed on the move without the need for laboratory equipment. It is ideal for screening people who have been in contact with people infected with SARS-Cov-2 or people working in a high-risk environment. When there is sufficient viral antigen in the sample, it binds to specific antibodies in the test cassette - a coloured line appears indicating the presence of a protein that is part of the virus.

Der SARS-CoV-2 Ag Antigen Schnelltest dient dem Nachweis eines Kapselproteins des Virus (=Antigen), und kann dadurch eine akute Infektion an Covid-19 sichtbar machen. Der Test wird mittels einer Probenentnahme aus dem Nasen-/Rachenraum durchgeführt, in nur 15 Minuten wertet medizinisches Fachpersonal den Test aus. Der Test ist für symptomatische und asymptomatische Personen geeignet, und kann ganz ohne Laborgeräte auch mobil durchgeführt werden. Optimal zum Screening von Personen, die mit SARS-Cov-2 Infizierten in Kontakt waren bzw. Personen, die in einem Hochrisiko-Umfeld beschäftigt sind. Wenn ausreichend Virusantigen in der Probe vorhanden ist, bindet es an spezifische Antikörper in der Testkasette - es erscheint ein farbiger Strich, der das Vorhandensein eines Proteins anzeigt, das Bestandteil des Virus ist.
