However, travelling down to Durbs to support Ireland and two quality teams playing each other so it should be a great series.

Hey guys - commentary in the Irish media is much more measured, acknowledging that taking on the world champions is no walk in the park - the Irish do not see themselves as favorites here, far from it. Talking up (imagined) Irish arrogance is just tactical.

As a proud Irishman and also boks fan there really is no need for SA mind games 😅 boks are back to back world champs for a reason, they are the BEST! Had to copy paste this because this excuse is thrown around even though it's nonsense. Rugby is Ireland's top international sport. By no means a non-rugby nation. SA have 8 times the population and 5 times the registered player base. So per capita, rugby is bigger in Ireland. You're just a smaller country. FYI, its not our most popular sport either. Irish keep dropping this argument. Weird thing is other countries don't make that argument. Take cricket for example, India have a population of 1 billion and cricket is their main sport. SA with a population of 60 million compete with India and cricket is our third sport. We and other counties never complain about their player base. So it's not that extraordinary. Stop making excuses

I'm Australian born, raised by South African dad and English mum in New Zealand. I see the All Blacks as the worlds best team. Boks beat them 2-1 last year but both of the wins required red cards to the All Blacks, which is something people tend to forget. You can argue that's a discipline problem but I see it as more of a problem with how arbitrarily applied the rules are. We don't see the best team winning, we see the team that survives the wrath of referee interpretation winning. It's kind of always been like that though, with the All Blacks themselves benefiting from some favourable refereeing over the last 20 years. Boks never got the proper chance to silence all doubters though as their opposition was maimed to play a man down for 65 minutes of the world cup final...and even with 14 guys they seemed like a better team than South Africa. in order i'd go with All Blacks, Ireland, Springboks, France, England, Scotland, Argentina, Wales, Wallabies, Fiji
@gregcampbell8624 күн бұрын
Still blaming the ref...... 😂
@Waywind42024 күн бұрын
@@gregcampbell86 I think most people would agree that the state of refereeing is highly inconsistent at this point. And the elephant in the room is that the Springboks have won 3 world cup finals without scoring a try. Scoring system needs to be reformed, possibly synchronised with Rugby Leagues.
@gregcampbell8623 күн бұрын
@Waywind420 I think the problem is more with the rules themselves than the refereeing. Everyone plays with the same rules, and both teams have the same ref. The sad truth is that NZ was...... by far the most ill disciplined team in the world cup. They haven't learned how to safely tackle and the cards are deserved. Im not sure what the comment about trys in a final is trying to prove. Clearly...... trys aren't a requirement of winning a WC final. That might annoy you, but try or no try the trophy is still in South Africa's Cabinet....... for a 4th time. Blaming the ref honestly is the weakest excuse and only serves to prove that you're ore losers. Studying how the ref does his job is part of the game. Maybe spend more time learning to tackle safely, than crying about the ref.
@gregcampbell8623 күн бұрын
@Waywind420 and if you want rugby league go watch rugby league. The sport already exists. No need to change union into a sport which is already there.
@Waywind42023 күн бұрын
@@gregcampbell86 I don't go for the All Blacks, it's a shame I even have to defend them. They don't need to ''learn how to tackle better'' they simply did what every other team does and got punished for it. I watched the french vs nz under 20s game yesterday and both sides were high tackling and shoulder charging each other in full view of the referee and he repeatedly ignored it half the time...he arbitrarily decides to apply the laws when it suits him. Keep an eye on the referee throughout any game and you'll see them put the whistle in their mouth to blow a penalty, only to not blow the whistle and carry the game on. They're indecisive and cherry picking the rules. If same Canes high tackle was a red card then so is Kolisi's , but that didn't happen. Saying '' go watch league'' to anyone who thinks the game is in a poor state is reductive and nonsensical. I want to watch union but i want union to be better than it currently is. It's devolved as a sport.

I would not read too much into the score against Fiji. They had so many issues with even getting into the country on time.

To be fair to Ireland their best player is the 10 who just retired and he WAS Irish. TBH he was bloody good too.

Mate you got it wrong. We owe Ireland a twickenham statement score. None of this 1 point nonsense. This is the" see we held back in the pools " game. Dbn can be close but Loftus must be a proper snot klap

8 out of 12 losses, nearly as bad as your record against the Abs since neutral referees came in after 1976. Should be great games but you didn't hold back at the rwc, that's fantasy

Good show again lads. Ja, Ireland might be missing G.Park. but they forget that they played us in the world cup without Marx. It's a different story with that specimen in the mix.

All pressure on SA..everyone thinking they'll win, all the chat from their camp and fans, back to back WCs, at home, at ALTITUDE, Rassie is a god knows everything. You can try and gaslight all you like lads. If Ireland win, absolute embarrassment for SA in their own house and in front of the world 😂

AND less Sexton... Keenan... Conan... JGP hahaha fkme they will be hiding or doing the usual, Ref Officials TMO Travel (oh wait they are at home they can't use that one!) hahaha the excuses will be thick and fast oh Rassie is building oh we were missing players oh we were experimenting

Are you trolls obsessing over what trolls say? No self-respecting SA fan would think that. Ireland is a very strong, well-coached side. I'd say, as an SA fan, that the springboks are only just favourites, but there's no shame in losing to such a class side.
@Tomk79rhby27 күн бұрын
@joelyons886 and SA are without players too. I've seen many excuses about the Irish lads being tired after a long season, being without JGP and HK, and being tired. Noise from both sides.
@joelyons88627 күн бұрын
@@Tomk79rhby both sides have "fans" that are acting like dicks and that is what it is BUT what I really can't stand and something that as an ex-player would never do and that's having current players slag and call out current players Eben and DAA to say and act the way they are is sick I've never heard any of the Irish players currently playing ever call out or disrespect the way that SA players have that is unforgivable and rather stupid Also maybe people in SA need a reminder of where Rassie lived and worked and how many close friends he has as well as current and past coaches that have all come from....... short memories

@joelyons886 what are you on about? Did you read my comments? You've just repeated what I said about trolls from both sides. Re the players comments. Don't you understand banter? Conor Murray gave it back. Don't be so sensitive. Just enjoy the rugby. It will be great craic

Guys...we gonna have to start talking about this Libbok situation. The man is a liability because of his kicking. Siya Magic is money when he kicks. Let's be real, when Libbok is about to kick, we have that feeling in our hearts and stomachs. I think Libbok needs to be relegated before he costs us a World Cup.

If C J Stander was Irelands best player, how come the only win on SA soil was when he got sent off and Ireland beat the boks with 14 men? I'm sure there are lots of excuses as per usual.

Manie shouldn't be 1 or 2. Sacha should be 2 and Manie 3.

Not any of those options are gud enough
@nickbacon531426 күн бұрын
Personally think a 5-3 split with both Manie and Sacha on the bench when they come on watch Sacha kick and take over at 15 when Willie comes off. Then Manie will focus on field play without the pressure of kicking this game will flow.

SA could win a cricket game and even win the Cricket World Cup, they just have to get the rules changed so they can smash into their opponents and stop them playing, clearly thats how they win rugby games especially against smaller countries who don't have a strong bench.
