In this video, I'll teach you how to do sasae or more specifically sasae tsuri komi ashi. This technique is very specific because we need to know how to make the opponent do a step forward towards us.
When doing sasae tsurikomi ashi judo is recommended to begin in neutral position. Then the judo technique continues with stepping in the middle and after that stepping on the opponent's side. It's important for the knees and toes to be towards the opponent.

Great way for getting into Sasae, and the tip of needing the opponent to step forward helps for when you are moving backward sgould be helpful in kumikata when needing an attack; thank you sir!

@@dannykarapanchev You are welcome- our club is mostly 'righties' but also a few very talented 'lefties'.

@@ktkt1825 Great 👍🏻 The left side is also perfect for judo. It's depends of your stronger hand. Therefore in boxing I am a lefty, but in judo I'm a right handed player.

@@dannykarapanchev I see- I'm a righty in Judo, but some are skilled enough to switch back and forth.

@@ktkt1825 Yes, the game is different vs left handed player. But judo is feeling, we must feel the opponent in every time during the fight. I will post videos with different techniques right vs left side very soon. Good luck in your judo 🥋💪

That is not sasae tsuri komi ashi. It’s more like hiza guruma (whe toris foot is set just below the knee) and done with migi grap to the hidari side… Nicely executed technic though and nothing wrong with that. Sasae should be executed blocking more like than sweeping with left leg just when uke is taking the step forward tori taking step to the right (stepping out of the way) and doing proper kuzushi by pulling uke and setting left foot just to block to uke taking the step.

My playlist "Judo Basic" is made exclusively for beginners and intermediate level athletes. This version of Sasae Tsuri Komi Ashi is very simple and easy to learn it. You can tach the leg of the opponent lower than my version, but in the case it doesn't matter. There are many differences between sasae and hidza.
