My performance of “Wild Is The Wind” (Nina Simone, 1966) from the closing night of the European tour of “Smoke & Mirrors” filmed in Glasgow, Scotland at SEC Armadillo. April 15, 2022.

Cardinals are symbols of those who have passed on. We saw the show in Birmingham right before lockdown in 2020 just as she sadly had to cancel the rest of the tour that year. This piece was just so beautiful and breathtaking. I felt so lucky to see it.

She does all that while looking vulnerable, fierce and beautiful through expression. All culminating in the powerhouse that is Sasha Velour through the delivery of a consummate, professional entertainer. Truly a special person, a Star!

I remember seeing this live in 2018 when Smoke & Mirrors came to LA, and it was also my birthday. This piece changed my life, perhaps forever. I’m still haunted by its magic. Sasha is a goddess, and a bard, and a living legend.
