My [Full!] Interview for Miss America 🇺🇸

After going back and forth on it for a while, I've finally decided to share my Miss America interview in its entirety. The purpose of sharing this tape is educational; I remember watching bootleg tapes of state and national interviews while preparing for Miss Utah, which was immensely helpful in learning how "play the game" and succeed at pageantry. It costs money to watch all of the Miss America interviews from my year, so (in the spirit of not gatekeeping) I'm sharing my whole interview so that you can see firsthand what it's actually like interviewing for the job of Miss America.
Although it feels vulnerable and scary sharing this, I'm hoping you can learn from my mistakes!
If you're interested, you can support my channel my shopping my small business (ArchiveSunday.com) and following me on TikTok and Instagram (@sashaesloan).
xoxo, don't let the muggles get you down! - Sasha

People need to start realizing this is how success works. “It was kind of like being struck by lightning, BUT I had spent 10 years of my life building a lightning rod.”

7:50 “ it is not my role to serve refugees…” A+ response! You re-framed the interviewers question! Brilliant!👍

As someone getting ready to compete at a MAO local in a week seeing something like this is so helpful and helps ease a lot of anxieties that I have for competing. Thank you so much!

I compete in MAO aswell (the teen division) what state do you compete for? If you don't want to answer or want to keep that private I completely understand but I have State coming up in two weeks and it is my first time!

She did a great job! She is beautiful, articulate and very well informed. However, could the judges be any ruder? Every time the camera was on them all but one was simply looking at paperwork or daydreaming. How rough would it be to speak to a group of judges like that?

Good interview but that politics topic is tough for sure. The guy on the left in particular was looking for less optimism and more realism. Men think in results vs women think of the experience, so it was hard for him to connect with her. I think men shouldn’t be judging women pageants anyway.

Sounded extremely staged and typical answers I would have expected from anyone. Everyone is “just themselves”

You were Pluto, but you were trying to get a child to come out of his shell. How do you attempt to do that if you're a mute character? 🤔 Not only that, but a mute character without any facial expressions.
