@@light1550 by putting ryan in that closet, jim shows people that he is not to be taken for granted, and everyone has to do their assigned work even if the manager was their chilled-out and easygoing colleague a day ago. also, ryan was very dismissive and rude to jim when he got a job at corporate, but jim would still get his work done. But now, ryan is still arrogant and doesn't do his work either, so this was jim's way of putting him in his place.

Michael spent the whole episode trying to get back in Stanley's good graces. I won't spoil it if you haven't seen it, but the ending is surprisingly tense.
