So what did the original author mean by “Monogenes?” Of course, the original author didn’t write in English; he wrote in Greek. Ancient writers often used this adjective to describe a child’s unique relationship with their parent. Moreover, the emphasis was on the specific relationship, not about physical begetting. In fact, monogenes is better understood to describe a relationship as “one-of-a-kind” or “unique.” This is exactly how the biblical writers would have understood the word.

Steve, important please - regarding the question at 1:16:30. Unity of course is important BUT only unity in Truth. How do you feel about Diop and Wilson jumping on the ecumenical movement? You say none of us are perfect, true, but I cannot stand by a leadership that I think is corrupt (regardless of whether a ‘mistake’ or not). Mind you, certainly what I have see of Diop recently, I see a wolf in sheep’s clothing. Would appreciate your thoughts on this. Father God creates by His Word, His Word proceeds from Him, Holy Spirit is breath of God (like the wind) brings life as part of a living soul (every breath we take is some spirit of God) and is used to influence (conscience) some have trouble accepting the word TRINITY yet we know God is Father, Son, Holy Spirit. Please, dearest brother, don’t use the term TRINITY, as it is very Catholic (Nicea Council, year 325) and NOT BIBLICAL. Use the term GODHEAD, or Deity/Divinity, as in your book: “SATAN’S WAR AGAINST THE GODHEAD”, that I’m about to read! The Egyptians had the Trinity: Horus, Osiris, Isis; the Hindus: Brahma, Shiva, Vishnu; the Buddhists: Buddha, Dharma,Sangha; the Phoenicians: El, Ashera, Baal; the Romans: Zeus/Jupiter, Athena, Apollo, and so on.
