Hathmale Ella Falls is located in the Matara district, around 8 kilometers from Deniyaya town. It stands 45 meters tall and 10 meters wide. The waterfall is also called "Sathmala Ella" which means "seven parts falls". The Deniyaya Gonagala Mountain is the source of Hathmale Ella Falls. The water is discharged into the Ginganga River. Take the Galle-Deniyaya-Madampe Road from Galle, passing via Akuressa, Pitabeddara, Morawaka, and Kotapola till you reach Deniyaya. To get to the Hathmale Ella Falls, take the Deniyaya-Pallegama Road and then the Hathmale Ella Road.
