11:21 Another thing to add when doing these super zoom outs, is an adjustment layer on top with a Gaussian blur effect set to 1-3, then Noise set to 2-4 to even out all sharp edges that occur when you have highres footage being scaled down! It's a CGI trick in general, to blur your sharp renders a bit.

This is a super cool video with super cool vfx that I'm def going to adopt, but the implications of vfx this powerful being this accessible are kind of terrifying. It feels like we aren't trying to capture reality the world anymore, but that we're trying to create digital ones. Scares me a bit.

I did go to Film & Media studies and interned as an editor, but most of the effects you start to learn through trial and error and doing projects :)
