You all asked for it, and so today I have brought to you a video on how to choose fonts for your designs. Font pairing is one of the 5 points in todays video guide, on how to choose fonts for your graphic designs. Fonts really make or break a design, and so you need to choose them with care and an eye for design. Typography has always been a bit tricky for me fonts, contrast, colors & etc I have gotten a little better but it's still a struggle so thank u for making a video on it giving great tips & advice

1.26 Is that your design? The image of the court building with the pillars being the letters of Hill. That is one of the best designs I have seen, ever. I suppose it helped that the guy was called Hill. You"d be struggling if he was called Simpson or Satori or anything with lots of S's or G's but it's still awesome.

It's quite orientated around psychology, a lot of graphic design is. It even goes back to business, in that people do not buy something based on logic, they buy things through emotion, and then base it on logic. A lot of graphic design, advertising and business in general, can be based on emotion and psychological.

Is there more "mathematical" way to approach this? Most of the advice I got was in the style of - pick carefully, try to match, just observe and you'll get better in time. Yes, ok, but is there an actual way to analyze the geometry of the logo and find physical characteristics of the logo that would tell you exactly what kind of font would be best match?

After pairing my fonts, how much should I change it ? Like for my logo , I want to use Bodoni. How much should I change the actual physical traits of each character ? Like the descenders, ascenders, serif...etc? Is it better to keep it close to the original and mess with kerning? I never see this discussed when making a logo with a certain font. Should I just select a font and embellish it a little to make it unique?

I wouldn't do that. When you choose an existing font I would rather leave it as is. If there's a need to change much I would rather use FontForge to design the font as you want it to be.
