Good morning Pawpaw I take my bacon grease and put a little bit in each section of a muffin pan. Freeze it then pop them out and put each section in a large ziplock bag and keep it in the freezer. When I need it I have the perfect amount to use each time. It keeps forever in the freezer. Never have a freezer taste. Hope you try this!!!

I, for one, appreciate the stories. It does remind me of when I was young. At our family reunions, the older folk would all gather together and tell stories. I was one of the few kids who liked to hang around and listen. I wish I could go back and record those stories. 💖💖💖

Ben has been a fantastic helper to you and the family. The family stories told to younger generations sometimes they don't understand back then at a younger age we worked on the farm doing chores. They don't always cluck with our fun times without tv and electronic devices. Being from a poorer childhood we had our mom make girls their clothes toys were made playing cards were homemade. Only time we had new things were xmas. And we appreciated it. Sometimes got teased with school clothes handmade. I wouldn't of changed a thing. I remember wearing feed sack dresses. They would buy fees in 100 pound sacks and had designs printed on them , they made dresses that would last. Would go to grocery in buggy would take eggs and butter in exchange for things to purchase.

Good Saturday morning Paw Paw. I could almost smell the bacon this morning. I love that Lex prefers your breakfast to any you can buy for him. My Grandad never cooked me bacon for breakfast but he used to cut me a thick slice of bread and toast it on the fire them spread Lurpak butter on it. (Always Lurpak he wouldn't have anything else). I thought it was the best toast in the world. Now was that because it was done on the fire or because my Grandad made it. Probably both but mostly because my Grandad made it. Hi Pawpaw, I love that you make Lex bacon for breakfast. It’s so much healthier than cereal. I buy sugar free uncured bacon at ALDIs and cook the whole package till crispy, bag it up and eat a few each day for a week. Hey, I’m older than dirt too! I don’t know where the time went. Probably years flew by working hard keeping afloat. I just love when Ivan scolds you. He is so lovable. In my grandsons subdivision, they have a farm with some animals you can pet and feed. They have a “donkey”, not as handsome as Ivan of course, but he loves carrots and apples and greens we bring him. It’s a pure miracle that Ivan made that full recovery from his bout with tetanus. I prayed so hard for him. Have a great weekend.

Morning pawpaw another great gifts and goodies , those gatorades are great for your hot weather to quench the thirst and restore lost electrolytes ! The pictures are a nice gift of memories which we hold dear as we age ! I know you can’t wait to get started and finish your new outdoor kitchen in the pavilion, and be able to have your quiet place to cook and bake your bread ! I hope your sourdough starter survived the flood , if not you can start another one and once again enjoy making your bread to enjoy ! The gift of the canned jalapeños is a wonderful gift to enjoy , I like you enjoy eating the coppers with chili or a pot of beans with pouring some of the jalapeño vinegar on the food ! I make my own hot pepper vinegar with peppers like momma always did ! I just heat my vinegar and stuff my jars with a mixture of whatever hot peppers I have like jalapeños, chili peppers, Tabasco peppers any hot pepper , pour the hot vinegar over the peppers, and seal them up ! Starting ing with sterile jars and lids of coarse ! I also make my own banana pepper rings in vinegar , using the sterile jars and lids heat the vinegar , cut the banana. Peppers in rings about 1/4,inch thick and stuff in the jars pour hot vinegar over them snd seal them up ! I love the banana peppers on sandwiches , subs , pizza , on a relish try with olives, carrot sticks, celery, tomatoes, shredded lettuce, cheese and lunch meat , and I put it out and let everyone make their own sandwiches , it’s one of my favorite things is a good lunch meat sandwich ! I love fried egg sandwiches and fried bologna sandwiches also , also banana and mayo or pineapple snd mayo sandwiches ( drain the pineapple really well with paper towel ) yep a good sandwich is always a welcome meal for me !! I also love your stories pawpaw of days gone by most of us in our age range have some of the same memories of those days of hard work with family made easier by the laughter and joy of being surrounded by loved one and bring in the crops or planting time , slaughter days weren’t as much fun because of the animals we loved and cared for now becoming our future meals put a damper on those days , but the meat was delicious , not filled with chemicals and life sustaining for our families for the next year !! Even shelling beans and peas was fine with everyone have a pan of beans or peas and a central #3 metal tub with everyone’s chairs facing in ti throw the shells in ti be taken out to give to the chickens, hogs , horse or mule and cows as an added treat for them to enjoy !! Then the canning started whether it be for the freezer or in canning jars we did both !! Yes your stories are always welcome pawpaw I enjoy everyone and can relate to most of them !! I recent left a comment on Ben’s video and advised him to collect some of Gigis 4 O’Clock flowers little black seeds as the blooms die and to plant them at his parent home or down by the pond behind their house , that way he could always have some Gigis 4 O’clock flowers !! I told Tina the same thing , now whether they do it or not is up to them ! But I know I wish I had some seeds off my mommas 4 O’Cllock flowers around my yard they self seed every year and are pretty and smell nice every evening as their bloom opens every afternoon !! One of my fondest memories is watching my Uncle Tony making all of us kids a fantastic country breakfast….. bacon, pancakes and eggs. I can still see it and smell it. On nice days, we would all sit at the picnic table under the apple tree to eat it. On rainy days, we would all sit at the table in the big country kitchen. Good ole summer days at the farm.

Miami Beach was so different than in the 50's. Open spaces next to what we considered mansions. They had their own jetties to outline the property going out imo the ocean. Great to catch crabs.
