That is the smile I always talk about when it comes to lord of war. The first scene where He stands in this ocean of bullet shells, he turns around and smile for a second and then he turns to his serious character. I love his acting in that because you can see at the very beginning that his character is a good guy in the first place

A common acting trick is the "micro-expression", where the actor flashes a hint of an expression for a second or two before returning to whatever they were doing before. It is not an easy thing to do well, and it is not often called for. Nicolas is the kind of actor where him either pulling a micro-expression or coming close to cracking up is equally likely. He does it for a very brief flash during The Unbearable Weight Of Massive Talent, too.

title of the 3rd national treasure movie... three-way with the DoI, where gates has to protect the DoI and nic cage played by andy gets mixed up in it all and thoughout there a romantic subplot of gates' girlfriend constantly mistakes gates and cage with eachother and ofcourse at the end nic cage and gates end up having a three-way with the DoI as the ending scene

I remember seeing this live and freaking out lol. The way Nic can sit there stone faced the entire skit and not even think about breaking character once is amazing. Dude is such an underrated actor and a good sport. That’s high praise!

Nicholas Cage is a great actor - really great. "Wild at Heart", "Raising Arizona", "Leaving Las Vegas" and "Adaptation" are some examples. The last one, btw, an excellent movie and great acting! This sketch was, like teen girls say (or used to) super awesome!
