This is one of the greatest bits I've ever seen, and the audience clams up hard every time. Everything about this is perfect. The bad clothes, middle-America-friendly jacket, local material, and a stutter than only comes out when he's self-conscious-all capped off by a terrible callback.

he's underused on the show but you see him more and more. I loved Good Neighbor Stuff. Drunk 8th Graders is one of my favorites.

the concept he uses is a fantastic form of comedy, the problem is he plays the part so well that it becomes very hard for the live audience to remove themselves from the reality he creates and be able to fully appreciate what he's doing in the moment

They understand it, but the skit is supposed to be funny due to not being funny. Skits like this always tend to have mixed reactions. It's natural.

I've loved Kyle Mooney since GNS and have been pulling for him on SNL, but I completely understand that his humor's not for everyone, and even more that it's trickier to land for a live audience.

it really is a shame that the writers be dumbing the shit down. Kyle has wild ideas but if he is allowed creative control its a slam dunk.. you can tell when those sketches happen and when he is being directed..

I'm glad there are others who appreciate Kyle Mooney. His characters are just so layered. SNL needs to give him a huge chunk of change and let him go do his own show. Love this guy's comedy.

look at the abnormally higher dislike/like ratio and low views on these skits, it's clearly not what appeals to the main crowd. Unfortunately, only mainstream humor is catered to by the big networks, and it makes perfect sense. People act all indignant when corporations do what's best to make money instead of servicing your every whim.

I actually googled it to make sure that he wasn't the same as "the KitH guy"-- I know the ages don't line up but he's got such a similar vibe. I kind of like it as it is, with an occasional Kevin sketch making it through but not too often-- keeps the weirdness fresh.

I actually just wanted to hug a fictional character throughout this piece. Don't know why, but I kept thinking that the character would be great in a semi-serious, dark comedy type of film. The little nuances like the restrained speech impediment and the occasional looks of utter depression...I don't know. It's a funny character on a sketch comedy show, but I feel like it has a lot of depth to it as well.
