@@williamgullett8071 Come on though.... praying to let the rice not get sticky.... people back in - say, 30 AD - had far more important "small things" to worry about on a day-to-day basis. I wish my life was so carefree and flawless that was the type of thing I prayed for. It's more of a mockery of "praying" than anything else, but of course someone will take the joke and actually defend it.

These are the things people pray for when they have no trust at all that their god will get anything right or show any kindness unless they pray for it. @andrewofmo1091 3 жыл бұрын
@@daimonmau5097 I would agree. What I loved about it was how seriously Sally took it when Jesus is telling her to tone it down. She felt genuinely bad, embarrassed by what she had done. What is funny is that she is someone who really does want to do the right thing, and Jesus ends up feeling a little embarrassed. The best part? There is a story in the Gospels where a woman gets Jesus to heal her daughter by, essentially, shaming him! Mark 7:24-31 and Matthew 15:22-28. In the context of the culture, the woman called Jesus out. So I appreciated that this had some gentle humor, really.
@daimonmau5097
@daimonmau5097 3 жыл бұрын
@@andrewofmo1091 yes,gentle humor with him is no problem to be done. In a almost perfect world, comedians could do some jokes here and there, just not too frequently. I looked at what this story was, it was a famous one, but it was not a "I called you out" situation. Jesus decided to not help her for the stated reason, and the woman was REALLY good on her answer and showed that she really believed in him, so he changed his mind. I think it's somehow when you (if you are catholic) ask for him to heal your son, and he doesn't do. But then you ask again in a REALLY better/strong way, and he does.

Actually it's not sacrilegious the Monsignor actually talked about people that do this. People who do this are demeaning what prayer is about. If any one is sacrilegious is people trivializing prayer. In the Catholic church prayer is something taken very seriously and respected. You're asking God's help.

Adam and Eve ate from the fruit and they were promised they would die that day and adverse and they did not die in a finality state they started dying spiritually and physically; death is a continuous state, you’ll never be annihilated in hell!
