As an MD of 35 years, my biggest complaint about the medical system is that every drug has both a marketing name and a completely different scientific name, many of the names are similar and get confused causing prescription errors, the side effects are often worse than the disease, the panels who decide drug guidelines are researchers funded by the same drug companies, and the Physician's Desk Reference is now too big to publish in book form, yet doctors are expected to know all of the side effects and drug interactions like walking encyclopedias.

Thank you, Octavia Spencer, for pronouncing Humira correctly! The ads for that drug mispronounce it, rhyming the "ir" syllable with "air", which NOT a sound "ir" makes in the English language. IR can be as in mirror, (Helen) Mirren, or irritation, which is how Octavia pronounced it. The other, of course, as in Elvira and Ira.
