I know he’s a dream boat but it’s a little annoying imo, apparently he did this ALL THE TIME and he did it on purpose cause he wanted to make it part of his “thing.” He would break character on purpose in almost every sketch.

I've seen maybe 2 skits where he stayed in character. Which makes him not funny to me, it's so sad to watch real comedian actors playing out their roles and he just did not. For years. I mean everyone breaks character every once in awhile but every damn skit with this guy! All things aside though I suppose he was a part of most of my favorite skits whether in them or writing on them.

It's honestly fascinating, at the time, it was pretty much an innocent joke. Now the united states have pretty much been in constant war ever since.

Since 1991 after the Persian Gulf War and the end of the Soviet Union, the United States really had no more wars to fight. They sent small policing actions and peacekeeping missions to Somalia and Kosovo, but that was about it. No-fly zone over Iraq. Russian Federation couldn't fund a military or feed it's people and China was still quietly emerging. In March 2001, Americans figured war was over and who would we even fight? The answer would come out of left field 6 months later.
