Because when you truly love/loved someone, it doesn’t matter if you both parted ways in a hurtful, complicated, difficult, sad, stressful, & painful way… you end up being happy for the other person. It makes you grow. This is my favorite Dua’s album, and this song is the best of the entire album. Thank you for giving us everything & for making high quality songs. "Happy for You" is the most radical optimistic song in the entire album, I wish more songs sounded like this on the album.

This was instantly my favorite Dua song on the first listen. It perfectly captured the essence of RO. Upbeat production that compliments and doesn't overshadow the emotion in the lyrics and vocal performance. It's the best song on the album. I wish she added more tracks like this to Radical Optimism.
