You helped me pull the trigger on these, thank you 😀 Picked these up in a men's US 12 this morning and just finished my first run in them; 10k on super loose and chunky undulating terrain..lots of rocks, dirt, roots and gravel. The ride was amazing and the stability was way better than I anticipated given the height of the sole. Very comfortable all the way out and back. Love the one piece tongue and glove-like fit! They were a bit warm (today was sunny and near 80F) but up here in Alaska that won't be an issue for most of the year. As far as weight goes, they felt comparatively similar in weight to my Lone Peak 4s, so I didn’t really take issue with that. Now, I should disclose that I'm not a huge Saucony guy, so I didn't have the experience or expectations that a lot of die-hard Saucony fans likely have, so who knows, maybe I would have hated them, but being new to Saucony and having been an Altra guy for nearly a decade, I was pleasantly surprised with this, my first go at a more "traditional" shoe in 10 ten years. I'm new to the "speedroll" technology as well, but man, did it sure feel like it was working to me! Granted, this was my first run in them, but so far I am super pleased and the performance and feel were exactly what I'd hoped they would be, in fact, they exceeded my expectations 🤙

Aside from the type of foam, it seems to be a trail shift rather than a trail speed. Coming from regular trail shoes the extra weight doesn't scare me at all, but I see how it's surprised people expecting a speed with lugs.

I got me a pair recently because the price was a bargain ($50 dollars) so I had 2 runs completing 25k and quite frankly - they're nice for non-technical trails where you can have a nice pace OR just for a weekend hike. If you're running, I noticed they're not that good over rocky or technical surfaces (don't work very well on wet surfaces) because of the outsole & the way the logs are placed. other than that, they're OK but not great as other Saucony shoes or other brands like HOKA.

Bit of a tangent, but I'm currently running the Brooks Catamount and to me that's succeeding in doing what people thought the Endorphin Trail would, ie take elements from a speed shoe and translate them to trail. I've found them light, responsive, firm but still comfy (even up to 50k) and you've got the same DNA Flash midsole from the Hyperion Tempo and Elite. Very underrated shoe IMHO that seems to go under the radar. Only downside is price. Enjoyed your take on the Endorphins, even if there's a bit of disappointment there 👍

Thanks for all the advice and chat at PB RUNNING this morning. Will be taking my new endorphin trails out on the cornish Coast path tomorrow to kick start the mileage for my centurion race prep.

I would have been tempted to buy these off the endorphin name as I love the speed & pro. I’ll stick with my tried and tested peregrines. Another great review.

Endorphin Shift is one of my favourite daily trainers and upon seeing first pictures it always looked like a trail version of the Shift which as a long run/ultra trail shoe sounded perfect. I didn’t have any expectations of it being the Speed equivalent of the trails. But The outsole seems to be in conflict with the speedroll. As the speed roll would only really come into its own on firmer ground then those lugs would be overkill, likewise when the lugs come into their own on sloppy technical terrain, you won’t have the footing to make use of the speedroll - just seems to be a big contradiction in purpose between these two elements. I suffer with hot feet and I think my pinkies would boil in that over engineered upper. I would be tempted to get it but I think in Saucony’s own lineup I’d be more tempted with the new Xodus 11 as a long run shoe. Anyway, that’s all academic now as I just ordered the Salomon Ultra Glide 😬

Loving the check pattern but it's a monster of a shoe! So excited about this shoe, love the Endorphin range, such a shame it didn't deliver. It's the Ultra Glide for me then. Great review as always, thanks for sharing!

Oh that’s a bummer. I sure hope Saucony sees this review so they can make corrections to improve this trail shoe. I ran in the Peregrine yesterday for the first time and I love them . it was so nice seeing Liga join you for a run.. see you in the next video.

It’s bizarre they embargo us! Always find your view useful as you know what Uk winters are like for terrain for a trail shoe

It’s a good looking shoe, but that weight is monster. Would be interested to see a comparison between this shoe, Salomon Ultra Glide and inov8 G300.

They maybe a shoes I would consider buying for the winter months until then I will be sticking to the Torrent 2 being lighter and cheaper on the bank balance.

I guess the reason for the embargo is that it gives Saucony another burst of content about the shoe around the UK release date. I’m thinking about trail shoes for ultras, but more likely to go for something from Salomon, Adidas or Brooks.

ooh that's a solid 'no' from me. The looks, the price and the heft put me off. That and I'm pretty convinced my feet don't really get on with Saucony. I won't be replacing my Peregrine 10s with the 11s. My first thought when I saw it was that it was a winter version!

I think most people feel the same way as you from what I've seen, underwhelmed and slightly disappointed by it. When Saucony announced this shoe I like most people thought it would be like a trail version of the Speed or Pro, but it seems more akin to the Endorphin Shift. Hopefully Saucony listen to the reviews and release the shoe a lot of us want, an Endorphin Speed with lugs. Thinking about it, there's a Vibram resoler near me, I wonder if they could fit some Vibram Megagrip to a pair of Speeds? 🤔

I don't think they'd be for me, a little to hefty. Love the peregrine 10 and I'm wearing in a pair of salomon ultra glide plus I've got a pair of peregrine 10s still boxed as well as the other pair I use when it's muddy. Bit of an average shoe by the looks bud

Simply put some traction on the Endorpin Speed & Saucony could’ve had a dope trail shoe. Every 100 grams over 250grams = 1% reduction in running economy. Dont buy heavy ass shoes!

Actually, my expectations were quite contrary - it was the answer: Is the Endorphin a more boosted, bouncy and cushioned version of the Peregrine? I much expected a better Peregrine than Speed going trails. So is it? Or will the Peregrine 12 be the one to look for? (borrowing the best Endorphins) 😏

I'd be worried about going over sideways and destroying the talus

No rock plate = no go for me for a mountain shoe! Too many bad rock strike experiences without rock plates, also don't get manufacturers not having the additional eyelets for lock lacing, that said the Saucony Peregrine 10 gtx & non gtx are in my current quiver alongside Scarpa Spin Ultra which has been great and the La Sportiva Helios 2 which I find great for non technical/rocky trails.

Before watching I know you're going to say that it's heavy because it looks it.

Why the comparison to the speed, if it was close to any of those shoes it would be the shift. I’ve seen this on a number of reviews, I’m also a huge fan of the Peregrine but if there is any comparison it would be to the Nike Peg Trail. It’s the only PEBAX trail shoe I know of, the Adidas with boost would be close but it’s functionality in different temperatures without any difference in feel is a plus I’d think. The stack height is my main concern, seems like a commuter all weather shoe to me. Great review as always 🏃‍♂️🤘😎👍

you have to be blind not to see that New balance with the Fresh Foam More Trail V1 and saucony with this endorphin trail, we all simply copied Hoka with their speedgoat, it is obvious, when to know if these two plagiarisms have exceeded the original ...... as in the majority of cases the answer is no, and just for the lack of originality, I would never buy these two shoes, even if they were very good, I find it deplorable on behalf of large brands like NB and saucony.
