Karantina is not only one of the oldest neighborhood of Jeddah, but also the OLDEST black neighborhood in Jeddah maybe the entire Saudi Arabia.
It is located south of downtown Jeddah near the old Jeddah port, as known today by Saudi RAMCO Port. This is where African pilgrims created their first neighborhood, because of its proximity from Jeddah port when they first put food on then Hijaz soil. It's here where they planned they trips to the two holiest cities Mecca and Madinah.

Amazing video! I'm Saudi, living in Jeddah, and I found this video incredibly informative! I shared it on Facebook, and with a few of my western friends too. I wish they weren't so afraid to be filmed, but some of them were eager to engage with you! Made for heartwarming interactions. I lived in Cameroon, Kenya and Ethiopia for a combination of 12 years! The most crucial part of my formative upbringing was in the motherland. I've also visited Nigeria, Chad, Djibouti, Seychelles, Mauritius, Ghana and Sudan! I'd love to go back someday and see more of Africa 💘

Muhammad is not the father of any of your men, but he is the Messenger of Allah and the Seal of the Prophets; and Allah has full knowledge of all things. O Prophet, truly We have sent thee as a Witness, and Bearer of glad tidings, and a Warner, Chapter 33:47 وَّ دَاعِیًا اِلَی اللّٰہِ بِاِذۡنِہٖ وَ سِرَاجًا مُّنِیۡرًا And as a Summoner unto Allah by His command, and as a Lamp that gives bright light. Allah and His angels send blessings on the Prophet. O ye who believe! you also should invoke blessings on him and salute him with the salutation of peace. He it is Who has sent His Messenger, with guidance and the Religion of truth, that He may make it prevail over all other religions. I think most of the Ethiopians and perhaps others from East AFrica/Horn might be camera shy because they might be there illegally. Thousands cross red sea to Saudi by boats. Recently there's been a lot of mass incaceration and apprehension of our people in Saudi in brutal ways. I am from Ethiopia and have a lot of friends I talk to over the internet from there. @@Kamal88j When I'm talking about poverty, I was referring to the streets and the neighborhood. Even if they are poor, I was expecting them to live in better conditions, knowing that S.A is among the richest country in the World. Concerning the mask, it is mandatory even in S.A so it has nothing to statistics. lol !

@Kamal88j 3 жыл бұрын
@@Africanadienne you are conflicting between poor and illegal. A poor person in Saudi gets gov assistance, but what you are seeing is building without permits. In the last few years the gov deported a lot of illegal immigrants in order to fix these neighborhoods but in return many will go back to their countries hungry and helpless. So it's either they live here illegally in horrible conditions but still make some money or they go home and live in absolute poverty. Regarding the masks, this is your statement 'It also seems like no one wears masks in S.A. lol!'.
